Sir,
The procedures in this city are that we have made an environment that is favorable for those that are not in this country legally to be harbored, to work and to take advantage of social benefits. You know it, I know it and most of the community knows it. I don't have the statistics but a large portion of our crime in Dodge City is committed by those here illegally. I sincerely believe that if we as a community adopted a stricter policy towards those here illegally that our community would be safer for those that vote and pay taxes. I would think that the health, welfare and safety of your constituants would be upper most on your agenda. Some say that perception is reality and the perception by many of the great people of our community is that we are very "soft" in the attitude of illegal immigration and that there is a great problem with this issue in our community. I would like to know what you as a city commissioner think about this situation and what suggestions do you have to make the community safer for my family, your family and all of the other good family's of Dodge City.

Thanks again for your concerns. As I said in my reply, I am checking with staff to see just what our procedures are, how they are being enforced by our Police Department, and do they need to be updated. I feel that our laws and ordinances need to be enforced very strictly with everyone in our community. I also believe that we need to work very proactively in dealing with illegal immigrants but that the Federal Government should play the most important role in regulating the flow of illegals.

I stopped at Wal(of China)Mart this noon (headache pills) and walked past a pickup that had just parked in the pregnant mother's slot as two able bodied (male) 'good swimmers' exited the pickup.

They obviously weren't PG but I'd bet they're both very successful 'breeders'

I parked there the other day, just because I'm pregnant and I can but I felt guilty doing it, so I still park in the same area I do and a little farther away just to force myself to excercise a bit more

He he - that's funny! So since they believe the Feds should take care of it, they're not going to do anything at all. What makes them think the Feds are even aware of Dodge City, Kansas. Isn't that why there's a City Commission - to make the City safe? That's surely not the responsibility of the feds, is it? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

One would think so. There are two types of people..those that wait for things to happen and those that make things happen. We can sit here on our asses waiting for "the feds to do something" or we can be proactive like the good people of Oklahoma and make it happen ourselves. It's called leadership.
