Buffett says "I don't pay enough taxes!"

Pretty amazing that the world's 3rd richest man believes that the American tax system isn't fair to the middle class.

Quote:
Buffet thinks he's not paying enough in taxes
Oct. 29: One of the world's richest men, Warren Buffett, says the U.S. tax system favors the rich and is in favor of revamping the tax code. Tom Brokaw reports.

Here is what they should go to. A national sales tax. You pay taxes on how much you spend.

This sounds like dajavue all over again.

This is scary but could it happen here...?

Ten Myths About the Bush Tax Cuts

Go ahead and swallow that “tax the rich” sound bite, here’s what Democrats have in store for us.

Quote:
It’s not often that we can speak in such absolute terms, but in this case, there is no way around it. Dubbed the “Mother of All Tax Bills” by Rangel and embraced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who told reporters last Thursday that she “certainly” supports the tax increase, this monstrosity would raise taxes on everyone: from the very poor to the very rich and everyone in between.

Indeed, with a price tag of $1.3 trillion — yes, that’s “trillion” with a “t” — the Mother of All Tax Bills is actually more like the Mother of All Tax Hikes. And to make matters worse, the Pelosi-Rangel plan kills tax cuts enacted by Congress in 2001 and 2003, making it a $3.5 trillion tax hike in total. Could the news get any worse for American families, farmers, small businesses and other job providers? Not likely.

So what exactly will the Pelosi-Rangel tax increase mean for families?

The most striking feature of the Mother of All Tax Hikes is that it raises taxes on literally every single taxpayer. In 2001, the Republican-led Congress and the president enacted a sweeping tax cut plan that lowered taxes for every American.

The Pelosi-Rangel plan would eliminate those tax cuts, raising taxes for every single tax bracket and eliminating the new 10 percent rate Congress established specifically to reduce the tax burden on low- and middle-income working families.

Not sure where your post fits in this thread. It's not talking about the Democrats "tax hike." It is/was a story about how Warren Buffett says that the current tax code should be scrapped and that he thinks that it should be a progressive consumption tax. That way the ones who spend the most pay the most.

Right here Bubba, we’ve been here before with the Buffett thing.

This is scary but could it happen here...?

The rest is just because I already see where this tread will go.

I don't even remember that. I saw this on the NBC Nightly news tonight. That is why I posted a link to the video on the news website. If the third richest man in the world says he doesn't pay enough taxes, I will believe him. He is obviously a very smart man.

By the way, are you a closet billionaire? You sure are doing a good job of arguing for them(millionaires and billionaires) to keep paying less in taxes while the middle class pays a higher percentage of their salaries to taxes.

I don’t trust a Democrat with tax policy.

That's what the fair tax does bubba...read a little bit about it. THe poorest benefit the most from it. Most Dems don't go for it and a few Repubs because it takes the power away from them. The Dems keep their power through taxes. It is their way of them thinking THEY are better than YOU at spending your money.
