Reminds me of when a kindergarten boy got suspended for giving a girl "friend" a kiss! Regardless of what you may think, not all physical contact is considered sexual, in nature. LET KIDS BE KIDS, DAMMIT! Our public school system is becoming more of a joke every day. Just educate them on the three "R's" and quit becoming anal about this other $hit!

The Principal was just following the guidelines of the handbook. I'm sure he may have some input but doesn't that come from the school board or something? The school board is voted on by the parents, I wonder how many meetings these parents went to or if they knew the policy. No one wants to know what's going on until it involves them. Hopefully NOW that it's AFTER the fact and in the limelight parents will get involved and get the rule changed.

This is just another example of the "zero tolerance" policies a lot of schools have gone to. It throws all common sense out the window. I think part of it is to protect the school from lawsuits. Say they hugged and got away with it even though the handbook said they can't and then two guys hugged or a boy and girl hugged and were expelled. LAWSUIT. There has to be some common sense involved which doesn't happen in our public schools....

leading to sex??

I heard on a talk show today that the principle states the zero tolerance on hugging is that hugging leads to sex!

What, exactly, doesn't lead to sex?

What happens if I am "undressing" someone with my eyes?

Really, just being around other people could lead to sex. What now, student handbook writers???? Should we don condoms on all the boys as they walk into school?? Should we put our students in bubbles to protect them from doing something that we think may lead to sex?
