As I was re-carpeting the birdcage today I read where our "Development Corp." had promoted someone from vice president to executive director. The story included acclaim to her overseeing projects and business recruitment (etc) for Dodge City and Ford County since 1991.
Additionally, she said: "I'm pretty much doing the same thing that I have been, just being the director as well."
Allrighty then, why did it stick so vividly inmind the answer she had in the
story about Garden City's getting Sam's to build there:
Quote:

Joann Knight, executive director of the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corp., said the organization contacted Wal-Mart a few years ago about opening a Sam's Club in Dodge City, but the company was not considering a store in this region at that time. She said she had not heard from the company since then.

err, um, ah, Joann: Corngranulations fur a job well
undone.
