Unfortunately it seems that more rules are broken than followed.

I agree that you should be good at your job regardless of the job but a skilled job is a job that requires SOME type of education or formal training to be able to do that job....nursing for example is a skilled job that you can't just get hired and learn how to do it while you do it or go through a quick training briefing and then go to work...hauling trash you can...working the line at excel...you can. I personally wouldn't call these jobs skilled jobs but like I said I do agree that no matter the job you should do your best.

Well they don't train their nurses much better......wham bam and your off by yourself.......then the red hats, white hats, dip hats get attitude cause you as a nurse are doin your job........well long story short.........short career I had at Excel.....pay was good tho for DC.....just too much BS........I didn't go to college for all that mess........Excel admin treated me quite well...the supervisors just didn't want anyone off the floor injured or not. Forgot thier "favorite" game - send injured employee to nurse for Work comp claim at 10:45 - when nurse gets off at 11:00. Jerkoffs......they hated me I think......LOL LOL

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the federal budget. I always appreciate hearing from my fellow Kansans.

Federal tax dollars are a finite resource, and when considering their allocation, it is essential that I hear from Kansans such as yourself. The insights that you provide on the various needs across our state are esential, and I certainly take them into consideration as I determine how to vote on legislation that would provide funding for various priorities.

snip

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me, and rest assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as the Senate considers the federal budget.
FWIW, Sen. Brownback's office doesn't 'spellcheck' too well either.

They DO put a strain on the economy but I would argue the point about stealing the jobs. If they weren't here i'm sure we could hire people to work at excel doing what they do but not for 10 -11 bucks an hour. They would want 20 bucks an hour and then the plant would end up moving somewhere else to the cheaper employment OR a pound of hamburger would cost you 6 bucks...pick your poison.
Whether they take jobs from us or do jobs we don't want to do doesn't matter. If they are here working and earning a wage then why do we as taxpayers have to foot the bill for their medical, give them food stamps, and pay for their kids to go to school with free school lunches while they drive new pickups and SUV's? Something just isn't right in that.

I agree with that also LG...those are all of the effects of having the workers here and in the long run the negative effects are probably many many more than the positive...but I was just saying I don't feel like...well at least here in Dodge that they are stealing too many jobs...

Thanks lurker! The mistake was mine when I re-typed it.

Bubba, It looks like to me the Senators office just put the wrong form letter in the wrong envelope! I have written him and Senator Roberts on several different subjects, and on some thing like illegal immigration (that they probably get a lot of letters on) they almost always send out a form letter.

Someone should forward this whole thread the good Senator.
