Teen birth rate rising

After years of declining pregnancies, officials are examining the effectiveness of prevention programs.

WASHINGTON - After falling steadily for more than a decade, the birth rate for American teenagers jumped last year for the first time since 1991, federal health officials reported Wednesday, a sharp reversal in what has been one of the nation's most celebrated social and public health successes.

The birth rate rose by 3 percent between 2005 and 2006 among 15- to 19-year-old girls, after plummeting 34 percent between 1991 and 2005, the National Center for Health Statistics reported

The stats are shown in total numbers, not per capita. The states shaded are the most populated. Therefore you could also show a relationship between bestiality and Swedish doctors using those "total number" graphs.

For your stats to show any relationship, you must use graphs that show per capita numbers not total numbers, and still it does not prove causality.

In most industrialized countries, the annual numbers of cases and deaths caused by tuberculosis (TB) have steadily declined over the past century up to the mid-1980s (1,2) (Figure 1). Since then, an increasing number of TB cases in immigrants has reversed this downward trend in countries that have had substantial levels of immigration from areas with a high prevalence of the disease (1,3,4) (Figure 2).

Just ONE MORE REASON why illegal immigration creates an unsafe environment for our families. I will bet you won't see THIS mentioned in the NEWSPAPER either...We just see some illegal woman and her kids sobbing because they are here illegally and being mistreated and thats it. One sided story.

Well I read the posts and hate to tell ya'll this but Mexican Nationals get BCG as an infant - they are less likely to get TB than we are.

Somalia on the other hand may or may not get BCG routinely. That study is significant to Denmark - not the US. Hell we had an increase of disease resistant TB due to Aids.......... not the immigration folks.

The US overall - it has to do with folks taking antibiotics for the sniffles, and the increase of Aids in the hetrosexual population as well as the Pneumocystic Pneumonia that Aids patients get.

What I'm saying is trying to link TB to the increase of illegals is ........... well to quote Wordy................... just SILLY
