Some churches seem NOT to promote the following of the civil laws. By this, I mean that it appears that most catholic churches in predominately large hispanic regions, are aiding and abetting the illegal immigrants. Not to say this is not happening in large Irish regions with illegal immigrants, but hispanic illegals are making the current news.

The church's role (any denomination) should be to look out for inhumane treatment of illegals. Not the fact that some are being rounded up and deported (this is NOT inhumane). Their role should be more in assisting the families left behind in the US in getting the $ to get back to Mexico with their loved ones. First and foremost, the churches should shy away from sponsoring rallies and protests and the teaching of illegals on how to avoid capture.

The church should, instead, focus on missionary work to further assist those in other countries. If a person in another country is being treated inhumanely then there are LEGAL avenues of getting into the USA. The churches should focus in the LEGAL teaching of these avenues.

Mostly, I feel the churches should stay away from and distance themselves from ILLEGAL immigrant issues, other than doing what a church should do: preach the belief.

The church, if they really cared, would help them to make their home a better place to live.

Instead they choose to say it's OK to break the laws of our country as long as we see you in church on Sunday. Your family and my family is made to suffer the burden of these criminals because the church has chosen to take the easy route. Would the church be so forgiving if the drug dealers were to band together and cry "what about the children" and "we just want a better life" but continue to deal drugs?

Do you think it's simply coincidence that the groups that have chosen to ignore the crime and support illegal immigrants happens to also be the ones that stand to gain from them? Politicians, school systems and churches have sold the security and wellbeing of their fellow man for their own personal gains.

America is more than willing to support sending help to other countries to make life better for those families. Like we are doing in Iraq.

More and more we see Americans dropping out of the church because the church seems to have abandon them. More and more we see people like myself who no longer feels the church has our best interests in mind, and choose to follow our own faith because the church has become self-serving. We see the same thing in our government. People are loosing faith in our government because they choose not to hear the people they serve, while looking after their own gains. America is in disorder because the people it looked up to for leadership have abandon them.

If you really care to help these people teach them to fish in their own country and quit feeding them fish from our ponds.
Sounds good Detector!

I was born & raised Catholic and I consider myself Christian in my beliefs. But the very fact that these people continue to "raid" my country's tax system illegally is not right. If they asked for help and went about their movement from Mexican citizenship to USA citizenship legally, then I might try harder to help them. But when they come over without so much as a thought process that what they're doing is wrong, then I'm sorry. I can't be party to that, no matter what religious zealots think. If help for "my fellow man" is needed, then find me a way to help them legally. But if they're going to be allowed to systematically attack the American way, then I have no sympathy. None at all.

I might have a little sympathy for the illegals if they were facing persecution if they stayed in Mexico. Or if there was some type of genocide going on there. But, there isn't any of that going on.

The only reason they are coming illegally is for hopes of a better life than what they have there. But, while doing that, they bring their problems, troubles and values that they had in Mexico with them here and in turn are turning this country upside down with their problems and all the crime that comes with them.

Bubba, I agree they're coming here in search of a better life. But that's the same story we hear from 100% of immigrants - legal immigrants. So, because we have the waves of illegal immigrants, we shut down or slow down the flow of legal immigrants. All of a sudden, the illegals' "search for a better life" is costing their fellow Mexicans' dream of a "better life". Search for a better life still isn't a justifiable reason to commit a crime. Do it legally and I'm one of the first to open my checkbook.

Illegal Immigrants

Bank of America: Can I help you?
Customer: Yes, I want to cancel my account. I don't want to do business with you any longer.

The Bank: Why?

Customer: You're giving credit to illegal immigrants and I don't think it's right. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

The Bank: Well, Mr. Customer, we don't want to see you do that, but we can't stop you. I'll help you close the account. What is your account number?

Customer: (gives account number)

The Bank: For security purposes and for your protection, can you please give me the last four digits of your social security number?

Customer: No.

The Bank: Mr. Customer, I need to verify your information, but in order to help you, I'll need verification of who you are.

Customer: Why should I give you my social security number? The reason I'm closing my account is that your bank is issuing credit cards to illegal immigrants who don't have social security numbers. You are targeting that audience and want their business. Let's say I'm an illegal immigrant and you've given me a credit card. I have a question about it and call for assistance. You wouldn't be asking me for a Social Security number, would you? T

The Bank: No sir, I wouldn't.

Customer: Why not?

The Bank: Because you would have pressed '2' to speak in Spanish. We don't ask for that information when calling in on the Spanish line.

This sounds like a bargain.
