Good information. According to the Globe here it's more than just sexual exploitation.

Sacred Heart second-grade teacher Tabitha Adams made her first court appearance Wednesday and was charged with sexual exploitation of a child, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Those are some pretty harsh charges...I wonder if any other teachers knew this was happening or suspected it and didn't say anything?

This is a confusing and scary situation. Like several people have stated, it is best to just wait and see what becomes of the charges and trial. If she is proven guilty, then she should "hang" for the crime. If the case against her is not proven, then she should be set free and apologized to by the accusers. There are so many things and ways that could affect the entire situation. Hopefully, the DCPD have investigated thoroughly.

I would think that the police found what they needed with a bond like that. Maybe the answer is in the paper, and I apoligize for not reading that before I ask, but how long was this going on or being investigated? It is a terrible situation. Im sorry for her " reputation " but Im more sorry for the child that has been hurt. NO child should have to go through this.

I think it will turn out that:

The child is her own child, who is a student at Sacred Heart
There is some sort of internet involvement

I thought I read in the paper that the childs parents were "notified", and were cooperating with the investigation.

You also have to take into account that the statement came from Sacred Heart who probably has a lot to lose financially and such if there is a perception an of their kids were in danger soooo...to believe their statement or not...that is a question.

You're right, Army - I meant that it didn't look like it was a student in her class, not that it didn't appear to be a Sacred Heart student. Not knowing at the time, it would have been pretty naive to think it wasn't a student at all. Sacred Heart does have a lot to lose financially, but they had to weigh that against their reputation if they tried to sweep this kind of thing under the rug. It might be a private religious school, but they have some mighty good legal beagles on their staff to advise them when things like this happen.

Unfortunately, I believe you are exactly correct. I can't imagine the damage to the child.
