For a 19 yr old man to get a recently turned 16 yr old girl pregnant.

I cant stand the double standards in this world. There is no excuse as to why charges are not being brought against Casey Aldridge for impregnating Jamie Spears.

Any where else in the UNited States someone somewhere would have been charged with indecent liberties with a minor

If the police know that a crime has been commited isnt it there moral and legal obligation for charges to be brought against a certain person if they know that what they have done is illegal? or cant the DA bring up charges.

What about that young black male who was 18 when he recieved oral sex from an underage girl at a party and had been in jail a yr fighting the charges and that he may have cost him a college scholarship to play football. I believe he was an all american high school athlete. Why was it different for him and not Casey Aldridge?

At least in Kansas, 16 is the age of consent. I dont know when Miss Spears had sex with her boyfriend, but in Kansas at least, a sixteen year old girl can consent to sex and there is no crime.

Actually, that is only partially true. Age of consent in Kansas is 16, so statutory rape couldn't be charged, but 16 is still a minor, so there would still be the indecent liberties with a minor troubles to deal with if they wanted to push it. At least that is my understanding of the Kansas Law. Not that I have any first-hand knowledge....

But she is from Louisiana and the article I read said that the age of consent there is 17. So it boils down to...where did she get pregnant, Louisiana where she lives or in California where she was doing a tv show.

He isnt in acting so it may not be the money when it comes to him. I believe he "lays" pipe (no pun intended, ok yes there was) but none the less she says she is 12 weeks preg so I guess the 1st thing to do would be to find when she turned 16 and do the math.

Look around at all the young hispanic girls that are bulging at the seams! Pregnant, here in Dodge City. Maybe its culture but these young girls are not catching this from dirty bathrooms or towels. The are also not dating young high school boys either. Seems the cultural ideas of decency are different in many places. What a shame and waste of a young life.

16 is the legal age of consent in Kansas; however, if the other party is above the age of 18 then that person can be charged.

If two people under the age of 16 have sex in Kansas, they are both charged and have to become registered sex offenders. Between 14 and 16 or something like that. it all depends on the age.

what are the laws in California? I cannot believe that girl got pregnant after seeing what her sister has gone through. that is all she needed.
