One result of Illegal Immigration

I'm sure this goes on everywhere but this is the first one I have heard of to this extent. Now, I'm for immigration but when ya run with crooks you can't be surprised when you become the victim. I hear they are charging the abductors and I hear that they are considering bringing in the Immigration services for possible deportation. The boy may very well be legal - the kidnapping was for his mom not paying the coyote for his sister's passage. We have plenty of our own crime just chaps my ass that this is the "new" mafia.

Police: Teen Rescued From Kidnappers
Boy Kidnapped By Vasquez, Police Say

POSTED: 8:24 am CST December 25, 2007
UPDATED: 7:51 pm CST December 25, 2007

HOUSTON -- A missing Houston-area teenager was reunited with his family after he was rescued from kidnappers in Austin, police told KPRC Local 2 Tuesday.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued for Antonio Gonsalez, 14.

Investigators said Santos Vasquez, 45, kidnapped him on Monday between 6:30 and 7 p.m. at a convenience store near Highway 290 and Becker Road in northwest Houston.

Vasquez was arrested and held in custody in San Marcos, Texas. He and four others face felony kidnapping charges.

Gonsalez was found in an Austin apartment Tuesday afternoon. Officers used a high-tech way to track down the teenager, triangulating a cell phone signal, which led to the apartment complex.

"I directed the officers to go door-to-door, asking for help. People were very cooperative, letting us come in and look for the victim and the suspect," an unidentified officer said.

"Thank you. Thank you, God," said Francisca Torres, Gonsalez's mother.

"Last night I cried, 'Where is my son? Where is he?'" Gonsalez's stepfather said.

Torres said Gonsalez was kidnapped because she owed money to men who smuggled her daughter into Houston.
