Suspect proclaims innocence; says another man was there when student died

Israel Mireles told his 16-year-old girlfriend, Victoria Martens, that he got into a fight with the other man the night Emily Sander was killed in El Dorado, said Martens' mother, Sandy Martens of Hays.

I think he has been watching Fugitive too many times. Did the guy only have one arm too?

Based on what her daughter told her, Sandy Martens said: "Even he (Mireles) professes his innocence — that there was somebody else there. He said that he got into a fight with another man."

Sandy Martens said her daughter, whose baby is due in late January, believes Mireles is innocent.

So the boyfriend or "my baby's daddy" admitted then that he went out to a bar, while she was pregnant, hooked up with the victim but there was another guy with her. They get into a fight but suddenly "my baby's daddy" snatches his pregnant girlfriend from her home, drives several states in one evening, dumps the rental car in Texas, then goes into hiding in Mexico. Yeah, for some reason I'm having real problems with his story.

He wouldn't pay anyway, Muffie. You know who will be paying to support his child---------all of us! And we will be paying to support both of the parents too----
