Death Penalty too "Painful"???

I'm watching the news....I see where the death penalty is being challenged because it causes too much pain before death. Honestly? Honestly. I don't know for certain what crimes death-row inmates have been found guilty of committing, but I rather suspect it's murder or some other heinous crime. So...I don't get it. It's OK for them to murder (if that was their crime) someone else without caring whether it was painful or not, but not OK for them to be put to death under more caring circumstances? I'm not sure I'm for or against the death penalty - I haven't given it enough thought. But this just struck me as stupid. Stupid because the Supreme Court stopped further death penalties until they've studied it. Honestly.

It's the way our society is moving...look at the terrorist. We can't waterboard them, torture them or even make them uncomfortable. Some of them are living better than our soldiers.

The problems with capitol punishment are two:

It requires lots of capital.
It (usually)* executes the wrong person.

* The wrong person comes from the extreme delay between conviction and execution. Think back upon yourself and anyone else... Who were we just 10 years ago? Certainly not the same person we are today.

Hence, we never execute the 'person' who committed the crime.

So then when someone commits a crime does that mean that years later if they are caught they shouldn't be penalized for it because they may have changed? Nothing takes away the fact that they killed someone despite time or how that person changed. The person they murdered doesn't get a chance to change...

Nope. I'm just saying that I believe the system waits too long.

I would agree with that....There should be more of a "try 'em and fry 'em" attitude in our courts. Death row costs too much.
