I want a lot of crap too, but that don't mean it is gonna happen!

If Huckabee is sincere on this, it would give him a point in my book! But that's the problem with politicians, they promise the moon, but rarely can deliver!

It's not just about what the candidate wants. The Senate and House has to approve it also. As for the fair tax it would take a vote to the public because 1st you would have to repeal the 16th amendment of the constitution which would be hard to do then adopt the fair tax. Considering lawyers are one of THE largest lobbies in Washington (lawyers = tax lawyers and without complex tax forms no need for lawyers) I doubt if many in Congress will be on board with the fair tax. Plus it takes the power from the hands of Congress and gives it back to the people...they will NOT want that.

A President can want to cut or raise taxes ( in the democratic case) but if Congress doesn't approve it then not much he can do. So it's not just about what a president wants to do...it's HOW or IF he can make it happen.

A lot of these candidates form both sides say they are going to this or that but never follow up with an exact plan on HOW they are going to do it or HOW they are going to PAY for it. What's worse that the candidates just blowing hot air is the people that are stupid enough to buy it without asking the hard questions....It's unfortunate the candidates aren't held to a standard of answering tough questions but they seem to avoid that as much as possible when it should be just the opposite.

Some believe that we don’t need another Amendment but just a court ruling on the correct interpretation of the existing 14th Amendment.

The key here is the definition of “State wherein they reside.” How can someone be a resident if they are not a legal resident? One could argue that those here illegally are merely in transit back to were they came from as soon as we catch up to them, and therefore not residents.
