Guess it must be ok -- I mean, those that give, get

George flew back via an $11,761 charter flight and offered the motion in the House to include "the southwest Kansas gaming zone, which consists of Ford County" into the bill....
George's campaign finance report filed Thursday revealed that he used campaign funds to cover the charter flight...
Probably worth it to the donors, huh. Be interesting to see all the donors names, companies, et al. Would he have flown back for issues like school funding, versus getting his name on a casino bill ?

Seems to me to be a legitimate expense. One question I have, are the campaign funds donations or tax money?

I agree, it's not like he flew with tax payers money on a "fact finding" trip to the Bahama's or something.

I think he could have flown "coach" like the rest of us, for far less than 12,000 dollars. Apparently, from the story, he makes a habit of flying private chartered planes.

Afraid of a little "rubbing elbows" with constituents?

I just have a thing about our representative spending our money less frugally than we would spend it on ourselves. (whether that be campaign money or taxes)

It would bother me too if it were tax money. We expect our elected officials to "give up" their positions or at least put them on the back burner for us. Apparently, Pat hasn't learned how to do that yet. I'd be willing to bet the voters would be willing to teach him, though. It's almost as if he sees his position as part-time. What a mistake.

12K Pat -- when is that election ?

Is it this year also ? I forget the term for state reps. Between this type of wasted money -- just to get his name on a bill -- and his "my church tells me how to vote" statements -- aren't there any ethical candidates left ?
