Perhaps they're wanting to avoid looking like a doomsday paper?

Lets face it, the Globe could fill every days headline with the abundant amount of bad news, but is that a good thing to do? With the possibility of a casino in dodge, you know we are being looked at by many potential businesses. While I'm all for not sugar coating the news, I know we've also got to lookout not to shoot ourselves in the foot.

How would it look to potential new businesses if the Globe's front page had only the gloom and doom daily? For example.

TODAYS HEADLINE:
Dodge City continues to grow as a sanctuary city. As surrounding states deal with illegal immigrants Dodge City grows in leaps and bounds. Crime has never been higher, English is optional, as is insurance, and our population has exploded thanks in part to all the anchor babies being born daily.

Do you think this being printed in the paper would make any difference in how the city would deal with the issue? No! All it would do is keep any new potential businesses from considering opening in dodge.

I've noticed the Hutch news hasn't printed anything about the incident either. Maybe no information has been released to be printed yet?

You saw they said that was a big factor of that big bridge collapse on that Interstate in Minnesota...

But in the MEAN time those that run our city should be working behind the scenes to make Dodge a safer place for those that pay taxes and vote. Do YOU feel like the city is moving in a positive direction?

I agree 100%, they should be. They are working really hard to make Dodge City safe from them damn dirty smokers.

Honestly I do feel the city is moving in a positive direction. And the thanks goes to it's people for starting to stand up to it's leaders. OK'ing a casino will go a long ways toward improved quality of life in dodge in my opinion. It will have a domino affect just you wait and see. Power will shift from the packing plants as the sun once again rises over dodge.

Dodge City has already set the wheels in motion to bring tourism back
