Teen Injures Homeless Man

Teen Accused Of Paying Homeless Man $5 To Drink Cleaning Solution
Man Critical After Drinking Cocktail

A Waffle House restaurant worker in Georgia was arrested on charges of allegedly paying a homeless man $5 to drink a poisonous cocktail of chemical cleaning solution that left him in critical condition, according to police.

Police said Quentin Wilson, 19, was taken into custody at a Stockbridge, Ga., Waffle House restaurant after 50-year-old Rex Leo became violently ill from the drink.

Police said Quentin Wilson, 19, was taken into custody at a Stockbridge, Ga., Waffle House restaurant after 50-year-old Rex Leo became violently ill from the poisonous drink.

Leo was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition Thursday.

"What did this poison do to his system?" Leo's sister, Linda, said. "It was acid, it ate through his esophagus and they don't know how much more damage. It ate his gums, his tongue. He's on a ventilator right now."

Leo's family said their homeless brother suffers from alcoholism and has been living near the Waffle House for some time.

They added they will push for tougher criminal charges for what happened.

A Waffle House representative said they fired Wilson and another employee who witnessed -- but did not stop the alleged prank.

Police may upgrade charges against Wilson from misdemeanor reckless conduct to more serious felony charges.

They ought to relieve the tax payors of the hosp bill too. Another fine example of how we treat our own that live on the streets. These kids need to do a bunch of volunteer hours at homeless shelters so they can see it's not as funny as they thought.

Nawww the victim needs professional help. If it weren't for his disease process this never would have happened. The kid needs a kick in the arse as well as his buddy. This is like killing animals for fun to me. Same thing. Thats how we get the Daumer's of the world - they get a slap on the wrist and are turned back onto society. The kid can get his help on outpatient basis the victim isn't so lucky - IF he makes it at all. Course this event will cure his drinking problem - but I have seen folks with throat cancer smoking thru their trach. Just one of those things - he'll have to drink thru his gastrostomy if he lives long enough.

How horribly, horribly sad. He will never recover completely. I don't know who to blame here - the alcoholic, the boys or the wicked parents that must have raised these boys without a sense of right and wrong. I say, let the punishment fit the crime. I wonder if they'd want to drink the same cocktail? I'd hate to run into these boys in a dark alley - they just don't have a sense of respect for human life. Even if the alcholic was a drag on society - we just don't kill people slowly so we can watch them die - maybe these two need to go to Iraq for a while. Maybe then they'd learn to respect human life.

Good one Muffin! Come to think of it, whatever happened to (depending on the severity of the crime) a judge giving a sentence to young jackasses like those to serve in the military? Their choice of either do hard jail time like making little rocks out of big rocks 7 days a week for a very extended amount of time or a hitch serving their country, showing up at boot camp with a jacket of what kind of scum they are with Gunny R. Lee waiting on them to arrive!

I agree they seem to have too much time on their hands. Put them in the army where they're told when to eat, when to sleep and when to work. Then ship their asses to Iraq hand them a rifle and say there you go boys have fun.

I dunno, Bigun, what happened to that. I asked my hubby (retired Army) if he knew - he doesn't know exactly either. But thinks it's a combination of the military being all volunteer now coupled with the fact that the military doesn't want to try and rehab kids. I think that would be a great use of otherwise unproductive time in jail.

You’re right there Muffin. The military doesn’t want high school dropouts and scumbags. That stuff worked when there was a draft and men were cannon fodder. No more. The folks in the military today are the best and brightest that have ever served. A hundred good folks are more effective and safer than 102 with two worthless POS.

The talk about the military stirred some old memories. I didn’t serve but I did go to KC for a physical in 1970. I remember walking from the train station to the hotel. Can’t remember the street, but there were two hotels. The Phillips and the Stats. One was for the volunteers and the other was for the draftees. I was with the volunteers and could not believe the scumbags that came with the draft that came in a separate bus to the induction center the next morning. No wonder we were kept apart. Anyway, we went out walking around that evening and I did end up on the corner of 12th and Vine like in the song. I don’t think that part of town was the shining gem of KC back then.

Anyway, I was with a bunch of good guy’s, but when I saw hippies with hair down to their butts in bib overalls and no shirt come in the next morning, no way I wanted to be anywhere near them. And the clean cut wimps that looked like football jocks clutching letters from their doctors as to why they were unfit to serve weren’t much better.

So the punks that gave cleaning fluid to a street bum, would you want them covering your backside (your six) when your life was at stake? No thank you. Maybe there’s a job scuba diving in septic tanks for them.

Yea... Im not so sure giving these jerks GUNS after what they have done is the best choice. If they are that evil, they would turn around and use our guns on OUR guys. NOt a good idea. I know it is wrong to think this way.. and I am thankful to live in America, BUT sometimes I do think it would be easier to take care of business quickly. These people do not deserve to sleep in a warm place, eat good hot food, and receive medical attention when needed and have clean clothes on their backs. They acted like animals and deserve to be treated as such, for the rest of their lives. At the very least they need to get to go to the hospital where this man is laying in bed in horrible pain and watch his suffering. I have NO use for people that act like this. Why should we work so hard to reform them??? And i dont believe it is their parents fault either. Some yes.. some no. Everybody makes their own choices.
