The Kansas Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert early Sunday evening.

Kansas City, Kansas, authorities say that a woman and baby are dead, and 3-year-old Seth Guerrero is missing.

A person of interest in the case is 23-year-old Andrew Anthony Guerrero. He may be traveling with the child. Guerrero may be driving a silver 2004 Nissan pickup truck with Kansas tag number 503AEA or a silver 2004 Saturn SUV with Kansas tag number XTY310.

Guerrero may be headed to Mexico, and should be considered armed and dangerous. A woman and baby girl who were found shot to death in Kansas City Sunday morning are connected to the case.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.

I get Amber Alerts on my phone. This one started earlier this morning in Kansas City, Kansas. Mom and baby were shot in their home and the older son was taken (he's 4, I believe). I heard the news report tonite that they recovered one of the two vehicles, the little boy and one of the suspects (there were two). The other suspect is still at large and believed to be headed for Mexico alone. A tragedy, but probably won't shake the world. This has become too commonplace for KCK and KCMO. Like war zones.

This amber alert also interrupted the super bowl on cable here in Dodge City. Another poster child for open borders, huh?(not the child, the abductor) I hope this f#*ker gets shot while resisting arrest on his way to Mexico and the child remains unharmed.

I keep thinking that if they want to go to Mexico so bad, they should rot in a Mexican jail.

Come to think of it, I wonder if we could save money by contracting Mexico to house all of the Mexican nationals currently in our prison system. When their time is up and they get released they will already be deported.

Child Found Safe Following Amber Alert

A man who had been the subject of a nationwide search after his estranged wife and a baby girl were found shot to death in Kansas was arrested Monday in Texas.

The man's 3-year-old son, who had been the subject of an Amber Alert, was found with him and was not injured.

Andrew Anthony Guerrero, 23, was being held at jail in Denton, said Officer Jim Bryan, a spokesman for Denton police.

Police in Kansas City, Kan., had issued an Amber Alert for the boy, Seth Guerrero, after his mother, Nicolette Lyons-Reed, 23, and her 8-month-old daughter, Leah Lyons-Reed, were found shot to death Sunday in their Kansas City, Kan., home.

Byran said the boy was in good condition and was placed with Child Protective Services.

Guerrero was charged late Sunday in Kansas City, Kan., with one count of aggravated interference with parental custody, said Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerry Gorman. Any other charges against Guerrero will be determined after he meets with the police, Gorman said.

Guerrero was arrested and the boy was found safe about 8:30 a.m. at a Motel 6 near Interstate 35 in Denton, about 35 miles northwest of Dallas. Police said a truck matching the description of Guerrero's was reported at the motel at 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

Denton police staked out the scene all night until the man emerged from his room.

Police said Leah's father is currently in the military. Friends and neighbors of the victim told The Kansas City Star that Guerrero fathered Seth, but has since become estranged from Lyons-Reed.

Thanks, hugz - you beat me to the post. I was just going to correct myself that the ba$tard still had the kid with him. I don't get it, though - why did he stay the night in a hotel? Why didn't he jump the border right away? And why did the police wait till morning before they arrested him? Letting him get a good night's sleep? From the news this evening, they apparently rousted everybody else in the motel out of their rooms during the standoff....so why did the ba$tard get to sleep? Anyway. It's very, very sad. She was very well liked by the people in her neighborhood.....and had a protection order against him. We've heard that before, haven't we?
