People's politics and religion are just things that are hard to explain. Typically - they are things that you don't really need to "explain" to anyone. They are just how people view what they want in a candidate. There is good and bad. The candidate of choice usually has more good than bad for the person that supports them. Explaining that isn't mandatory, necessary, or warranted. It's a private, personal decision that should be respected by all. Especially those that disagree with the person's choice. There are many lessons to be learned in the area of good taste when it comes to someone elses politics.

There is no doubt BO is fresh, intelligent and a great speaker. He can get the crowds motivated and energized. The questions to ask yourself are these, though:

Is he the leader of a football team, or the leader of a cheerleader squad? Being a great speaker means you just know how to say, what to say and when to say the right things. That doesn't make you a leader. Does he have the "power" to actually do the things he wants to do? Politics is about who you know and how well you influnce them. BO does not have that kind of political clout yet.

Granted it may be no big thing, but it always seems to bug me when someone is of mixed heritage and they choose to be represented by the minority side. Is he "black" ? I thought he was from a mixed family so why is he "black"? Why doesn't he tell his supporters to quit regarding him as such? Just a thought is all.

When someone tries to stradle the fence so as not to upset sides......they show a great weakness. If he didn't put his hand over his heart.....then just say it. Why come up with some bullshit smoke-up-the-ass excuse? That makes him sound like a wimp and appologetic for being an American. Screw anybody who "feels" oppressed by our flag. You are not saluting them.......so who gives a crap what they think or feel?

I like BO. I liked him when he spoke at the last election. I think he is truly one of the most motivational people I have seen in a long time and I respect what he has done. That being said, in my own opinion and not because he is a Democrat, I do not think he will win because he lacks the experience needed to be the leader of the strongest country on this planet. Making people feel good only goes so far.

I respect you for having a strong opinion and I really do like seeing younger Americans so convicted, whether I agree or not. And I do TOTALLY disagree with your views on Barack Obama, BUT I also realized something just as I was spatting back and forth with you. You mentioned last night on here that you are going to have a baby soon. And I will DO NOTHING to get you upset and risk you or your baby any problems. I hope beyond hope that your child is born healthy and grows up happy.

Ya could be right and you have valid points - but I just don't see anyone else I would give my vote to. Sometimes "motivation" is the root cause of postive change. Hell at this stage it's certainly worth a chance. I already have seen what the others offer and to phrase a phrase it's - well - Just more of the same.

Everyone knows there is no such thing as free health care. How much of your paycheck do you take home now? Hiow much more are you wiling to pay for your health insurance and for the insurance of others? Not to mention the fact that our state, county and city take 8% of what's left of your paycheck now "your 'spendable' income. Your "spendable" income will shrink and they will still take their 8%.

I guess I just learned something new. When did that section of the U.S.C. take effect? I don't believe they taught us that when I was in school. I graduated in '78 and they always told us that it was an option to put your hand on your heart, but that it was required to stand at attention, face the flag, and be respectful.
