I agree with the message - I thought posting on Utube was free. How much can a camcorder cost? I just think it's tacky to pound in the "how much you are paying a month" message - then solicit for more. They could probably sell either of those videos to either candidate or to the DNC itself.

I do like the videos thos - think they are pretty snappy.

do you really think those were produced with a camcorder? If they were just done by a couple of guys in their basement they wouldn't be anywhere near that quality.

And I'd be willing to bet you Tube isn't the only place you'll find them. Placement is expensive.

Asking for money for a project you believe in and agree with is a whole lot different than taking your money for something without giving you a choice.

Those are OBVIOUSLY not done and produced in a basement w/ a comcorder. They are produced and targeted to people who will donate money. Some people are so easily fooled.

I saw that they had $5000 of their 100,000. I just can't imagine giving money to them - I figure if I have a point to make I would take the camcorder way - others have and did just fine. Just looked like a money making project to me.

Again - I love what they have to say and I OBVIOUSLY am not a fine judge of cinema photography. Bet they would take my money just the same. I'm not so sure I would give it but whether they are legit or not - their message is still an excellent one. I do altho disagree with making money off peoples fears. Just my humble opinion on the topic.

The videos are made by Robert Greenwald and his company Brave New Films. Here is a short paragraph that tells a little about him.

Greenwald is the founder of Brave New Films, a media company that has published additional documentary films such as Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers, The Big Buy: Tom Delay's Stolen Congress and, Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price. Brave New Films has also released a pair of television series entitled ACLU Freedom Files and The Sierra Club Chronicles.

So is he a "profit" or "non profit" company? Looks like he's a profit to me..............

He is an independent filmaker that doesn't get the big financial backing from the big studios. He gets his financial backing for projects by asking mainly everyday people to donate small amounts.

ps. No, I haven't donated. But I did enjoy the documentary film he made "Iraq for Sale" and the Wal-Mart documentary.

I think you posted the Walmart documentary......... didn't you? I liked it too if that was his.

Far be it from me to scoff at how someone makes money - as long as it's legal. I didn't mean to imply that he was less than honest. I just don't donate to those type things - that's all. I figure if it's your "business" you should have a plan to stay in business - otherwise I'm paying for your "hobby".

Don't get me wrong - I like his work - just not the way he supports it. Guess I feel it should be his hobby - .......... oh nevermind - I can't explain it quite right anyhow.
