You guys are a riot!

E-mailing Snopes and the Obama campaign. Doing searches. The answer you seek was handed to you on a platter yesterday but because it was on a right-wing site you ignored it. It really shows your partisanship when you choose to only believe what is spoon fed to you by the left and the extent that you will go to get it.

You might try applying some fact checking effort to some of the left-wing propaganda before swallowing it hook, line and sinker.

It had nothing to do with being on a right-wing site. I didn't even know what wing it was in. I will not believe anything from a blog site unless it is corroborated by a trusted source, ie- major news organization or something along those lines.

A blog is nothing more than an online diary of one person. He, or she, can put whatever they want on it without any regard for accuracy or fact.

Yes they can. Especially when it carries labels and tags like humor and satire.

As I said, the answer was handed to you on a platter and you ignored it.

Unfortunately, the quote in the sig line in question mentions nothing of humor or satire. It is nothing more than a quote, albeit one that has no basis in fact. But, others that might be more gullible, would look at that and consider it a fact and base decisions on something that is a complete falsehood. But, since that fits into your agenda that is all good with you.

The United States is comprised of more than left-wing or right wing people, much to your disheartenment. In fact, I would say that the country is comprised of more "middle of the road" types like myself that can view things with an open mind and common sense, than there are of the "wingers."

Wow, that was a lot of reading. I wish I had been here for the start of this thread, my response would've been more relevant. I am not trying to be in anyones camp but here in Iraq, there are troops from all walks of life. The Army is a cross section of society. We can talk all day about poor kids, or rich kids, and who is doing more, but we're all the same here. There are kids who turn down scholarships to come into the Army, and then they join the infantry. There are some dirt poor guys who come in to be computer specialists. The Army will give you what you put into it. No one asks "hey, whats your family worth?". More often we ask, "where are you from?". If you are dirt poor, and you don't want your kids to fight for this country, then don't influence them to join up. Then again, in the end, its their decision. It's called a Volunteer Army. Yes, there are some "thugs" in the Army. I call them douchebags. They usually are not allowed to become SGT's, as they have a bad habit of being troublemakers. Then again, some of them get their act together and next thing you know, they become trainers, and set an example for others to follow. No organization is perfect, and we are far from it, but the chances you have here to better yourself are many, and the motivation to better yourself is strong. You will get out of your service what you put into it.

I do not feel like I have been used and abused. I love what I do, and I could've made better money elsewhere, but this is the life that I have chosen and I am proud of it. At the end of it all, I made a difference. I have been a part of history, I have (so far) survived almost a year in arguably the most hostile city on earth, and I have helped train a country to defend itself. Yeah, I could've made better money outside of the Army, but could I have done all the other things.... thinking not.

It's a sig line! Who gives a rat's ass! Everybody on both sides say whatever they want that serves their purpose. What's new? You can look anywhere on the www and find whatever you want to support "your guy" or bring down their opponent. This is really something to get bent otta shape on. It seems like a lot of people will type stuff to someone they don't really know, and most, (not all), would never say some of the same things to that person face to face.

Putting quote marks around something means someone actually said it. Which means that other people read it and then think that Obama really said he doesn't want to take sides. Then they tell 2 friends and they each tell 2 friends and so on and so on and...

Next thing you know the lie takes on a life of its own and people start to buy into it. Eventually it's proven to be untrue but by then the damage is done.

So, if I see bullshit I'm calling bullshit.

It's not just a sig line. It is a false quote and an outright lie.

If nobody gives a rat's ass, then you wouldn't have a problem with an outrageous quote by you in my sig line? Even if it isn't an accurate quote. I'm sure I could come up with a doozy that would be pretty embarrassing to you and people that know you.

It is just a sig line. And you're right, I wouldn't have a problem with you putting an outrageous quote, attributing it to me if I was putting myself out there in the public eye. If it was "such a doozy", I could make a public statement saying it was pure BS or not. And anybody that knew me would know if it was true or not. And people that know me really well would know it probably was true!

Also, since I truly don't give a rats ass, and don't type worth a crap, I'm done with this. If you think there is enough people on here paying attention to a posters sig line as to keep Barrak Obama out of the Whitehouse I am pissing in the wind trying to explain how I don't think it's that big a deal.

I'm not saying it's true or not true, but I think anyone with a lick of sense will look at that sig lineand look at other posts in the same vein and decide if they believe it or not.

Just pissing in the wind,
doc
