I've been too busy to pay a lot of attention to what was going on in Washington, but catch some of the news shows. I was a little frightened when they took so much time out of their over-paid schedules to hold hearings about drug abuse in baseball - it's none of their business! Really! Unless they hold season tickets. It's a baseball issue. Let them take care of their own. I am very frightened that Congress has decided to "wait out" President Bush and are thumbing their noses at our safety. It just makes me wonder who these people think are paying them. Holy God!

The Dems don't want to approve any legislation that might make our country safer or actually catch or kill a terrorist because it would make Bush and the Republicans look good. Think about that. If things go good in Iraq or go good in the War on Terror it is bad for the dems so why would they support anything that may help. They risk your family and my families well being for political gain....so WHO is the real enemy?

Didn't McCarthy make a name for himself with the same sentiments? I think we should be cautious of ALL of them.

Having said that. I certainly disagree with congress and their probe on steroids in baseball. Jeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzz. I know the backlash is not in their favor..
I feel that is more important to try to come to a decision about wiretaps, or whatever they call it. Also torture ...... what is torture for one may not be for another. I know I have a low tolerance for pain.
So I have no Idea how I feel about that during War time. Its very complicated... I think

I consider torture the televising of be-headings and the forcing them to read things before they die - keeping them for weeks while playing their games. I think until we saw off their heads with knives, attach electrodes to their gonads, or the such....... there has been no torture. Get me the damn pillowcase to put over their heads and the Polaroid camera - torture........... oh please! McCain just isn't the expert on torture - we have plenty of experts standing on the corner with "will work for food, will work for drugs" signs........... ask them what they think about torture - oh I forgot all they get to think about is food and drugs.......... and the occasional place to sleep between the dreams that the VA doesn't deal with.

We got enough torture right here on our own streets - I'm not worried about some towel head and if he gets his feelings hurt or not. Water-board the bastard.

What makes ME sick is that we have soldiers dying in war and you have political parties doing things like creating bills to defund them. IMO that is just ludacris. What KIND of message do you send to these soldiers? You have political parties being against things that will keep our country safer at every turn...FIZA/Phone taps etc....What kind of message does that send? Personally I get tired of this. We are at war with people that will kill your kids and mine...I personally don't believe our troops or our secret agents should have their hands tied in a war. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win. If you are not in it to win it then I guess we should just bring our troops home and learn to speak Arabic. I'm just one guy with one opinion but like the war or not withdrawing the troops NOW would be a SICK thing to do....JUST like what SGT T said..(guy on the ground in the middle of it all) Clinton and Obama want to bring them home immediately. Would you support this?

The bottom line is we are in a knife fight with some very very bad guys. We need to have the stomach and the nuts to finish the fight regardless of how long or what it takes. If we stop now America will have a black eye that will last for years. It will also send a message to the rest of the world that we are weak. Do you want that?
