| It is nice to see great things happen to people who can use it. I am tired of rich people always winning the money. That money will really make a difference in her life and her kids lives. ![]()

| Also, works at National Beef! I thought us Americans wouldn't do work like that and that is why they needed the illegals to do the work that we wouldn't do. ![]() I worked at National before it was National. I pushed cold cattle to start, then worked the rib saw for awhile, then moved to cut down on the loading side. Then it became National and they built the fabrication side and I worked QC and in the hamburger room. Don't tell me we won't do jobs like that.

| Oh, "we'll" do them, alright - it's just that most of us that speak English command a higher rate of pay. Let's say two people apply for the same job. One speaks Spanish only and is not a legal citizen, and so will work for $8. The other speaks English and is trying to put himself through college part time. He really prefers to work for $10, but will take less. Who are you going to hire? The guy that will work for $8? It doesn't matter for his job that he has no real skills and can't speak English. $2 an hour means $80 per week (at least), or over $300 per month. Multiply that by however many unskilled jobs are at a beef packing plant and you have your answer. If I'm a business person and I can get away with it (legal or not), I'm going to hire the guy that is more than happy to scoot his happy ass in my plant's door every day for $8. I give a rat's ass if anybody can understand him. Now, I understand the flack that my management will get because they don't take orders as well (they can't understand them), but I don't really care. Maybe they should just learn Spanish and try to get along. See how it goes? It's just never ending. All of a sudden anybody that can find any other job is doin' just that. And all that's left are the non-English speaking, non-citizens.
