| Bad bad move on Obama's part I know I mentioned it before in a post........Obama's wife would cost him and man, has she done a whammy. It does not matter what an intention is, it is PERCEPTION that counts, especially when running for President. Mr's Obama has TWICE mentioned in a speech thet she has "never been proud of America during her adult life until now". When fighting you never, never give your enemy ammunition. This statement is stupid, stupid, stupid. This statement puts the race card front and center. I know, she is not running......BUT, the thing that drove people nuts about Hillary was her having so much say in what her husband did as president. Now, and if you think for one moment that Mrs. Obama is not going to be involved you are crazy, she has put herself front and center.

| I saw this on the NEWS this evening, I attribute it to having grown up oppressed and poor. Having to go to affirmative action colleges like Princeton and Harvard would make a person bitter on the Upper Class. It is good she finally finds something to be PROUD of the USA for, although it does seem to be a bit like BIGOTRY!!!!

| She really wasn't oppressed and poor grainy, more middle class. Michelle Robinson was born in Chicago, Illinois to Frasier Robinson (who died in 1990),[1] a city pump operator and Democratic precinct captain, and Marian Robinson, a secretary at Spiegel's catalog store;[2] she grew up in the South Shore community area of Chicago.[2][3] Unlike her husband, she was raised in a conventional two-parent home where the family convened around the dinner table nightly I don't really think either one of them hung out in the hood with the poor and oppressed. I doubt they even drive down those streets. Only during campaigning. I think they really should be commended for their success, but I'm still not sure about becoming President and First Lady. Not because they are black but they lack experience. I know I know some wont agree. But its just MHO Her statement sucked and it should be torn apart just like Bill. Equal opportunity doncha know

| I just didn't see the big deal about this - I saw the news too and I just thought............ blah blah blah. Doesn't change my opinion. Hell we got folks that screw in the oval office and we are worried about this?.............. nope - not worried here but I'm sure she will do her proper "groveling" and be forgiven. This just didn't rile me up but sure got lots of tongues waggin none the same. Sure gave ORiley a "talking point"

| It doesn't rile me up, it just is a stupid move on her part. I do not believe for one moment that she is un-patriotic or an "American hater" in any way. Nothing wrong with a strong willed woman, hell, I love them! Politically, though, it is a bad move. Remember, it is the middle of the road voters who elect a president and those middle of the road types do not like race thrown in their face. They also do not like the thought of voting for a president who is, pardon the French, pussy whipped. Obama will have to spend a good deal of his time now trying to clear up what she said. The last thing you want is any sign of weakness. Kerry's wife cost him a butt load of voters with her speaking and thoughts.

| You are probably right - but with that said, I didn't like Kerry or his wife so didn't listen to them much anyhow. They were just too "privlidged" for my taste. I don't follow politics to have much more than a small opinion (altho Obama does give me hope - his quote not mine) to go along with my vote. There are millions to cancel me out but I still go to vote so I can do my part of stirrin the political pot. I didn't think you were riled - it was my figgure of speach. I won't even go to the pussy whipped thing cause I just don't think in those terms since Ronnie was whooped more than any president that has sat yet and he's revered as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I agree he was an awsome president but it was Nancy that wore the pants. There was never any question on that and he left a legacy that McCain can only dream about.

| You are right. Both Ronald and Bill had some strong willed wives..........but they did not show that until after they were elected. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to put Obama down for this, just pointing out the bad move made and how it can effect him. ![]()

| Are you tellin me that you actually thought that Nancy was that sweet young thing you saw in the movies???? Geesh I remember the reports of her when she was first lady in California. She did have grace and charm tho when first lady of the state or the nation. She carried a big stick and swung it with regularity. LOL Speaking of lil Nancy - hope she's recovering nicely - she sure is frail now but bet her house staff don't think so!! LOL Ya have made some very good points I just didn't think about because of the way I think. I figgure the rug will get pulled out from under me by the political machine. This nominaton and election is far from over. I think it's just gettin warm in the kitchen there's plenty of fuel in the closet for the fires that are comming - if ya know what I mean!! Keep me "up to date" - I will need the help!!

| Sorry Tex, I am not the one to turn to for any kind of political help. lol I go by my gut. I am a warmonger type.......kill first or be killed. I am not niave to think that regardless of what party one belongs to, they all have agenda's and they all will change to fit whatever the mood is. I personally believe that the political world right now is in shambles because one side truly hates Bush. It doesn't matter what he does, or would do, as long as he has anything to do with it they will dislike it and fight against it. Is he the greatest leader ever? Hell no. Is he the worst? Not in my opinion. I personally do not like Hillary. Not because she is Democrat.......because she is, in my opinion, worthless. She has done nothing but ride the political wave because of her name. I mean, seriously, if she was my mother could I respect her? If she was my boss, i would quit. I was raised by my mother and grandmother, two of the most headstrong women in the world. To me, she truly disrespects what, in my eyes, is a strong woman. To me, Obama, at this point, is all fluff. I think he is a great person and I respect him but hope only goes so far. When somebody like Ludicris or Sarandon steps up and praises him.......well, that shows me who he panders to mostly. If somebody threatens us, or attacks us, is he going to talk to them or bitch slap them? Is he going to "hope" for change or is he going to lay down the law and force change? What is he going to change exactly? Is the rest of the world going to suddenly go "Oh snap! We were soooo wrong about the U.S. Lets all be nice and play lovey dovey." Are dogs and cats going to suddenly lay down together? McCain......well, so far he is the best of the worst in my opinion. Do i agree with everything about him? Nope. I do think he is savvy enough to know how to play the game. He may not like "torture", and may even disagree with how we treat prisoners of war, but I doubt he will change anything because the stakes are too high. He may be lax on illegal immagration, but again he knows who butters his bread and I doubt he will make lax laws to deal with it. In a time of war, to me, you want experience. While some may "hope" for a better day, our enemies "hope" to wipe us of the face of the map. Just my two cents worth. Well, seeing how long winded my post was, more like a dime actually. ![]()
