McCain's right to become President is questioned, but someone can sneak across the border and drop a kid the minute they are on U.S. soil and their kid is able to become president no questions asked! What is wrong here?

If you read the article you will see this was brought up by McCain's own advisers (specifically this adviser = attorney - is the same one that sued Florida during the Gore / Bush debacle).............. and has been brought up with every candidate that fits the criteria...........(see the ones at the top of the article).

This isn't a right or left issue............ it's just an issue that got McCain some blip in the paper.................. RELAX!!!

Who said anything about right or left? No one! I was, however stating the fact that a baby dropped on U.S. soil in the middle of the night was eligible to become President, no questions asked. You claim to be a former righty who changed to a lefty and now it seems that is all you can focus on.

I'm still a person in the middle. I historically vote Republican, am against illegal immigration, and am "for" folks taking care of themselves. It's just the the "right" seem to feel that the only people that are worth any help are themselves. It makes me sick.

I think that our country is compasionate enough to show some consideration for others - that's all.

So don't lump me in the "lefty" group - I don't live there.

The way you posted - seemed to imply that some other source (other than McCain) was at the root of this article. Just wanted the truth to shine thru............. no personal whack intended. Sorry if you took it like that. I'm now assured you didn't intend it that way either. Glad it's crystal clear!! This was a "immigration" post.................. so the truth is yep - a child born (not dropped) in the US is a US citizen. May be inconvienant but it's the law.

If you follow the link and look at the bottom of the page we see the origin of this story is the New York Times. The same rag that tried to fabricate that story about McCain having an affair with a lobbyist.
