People listen to him because he is a shock jock. He does a good job of getting folks riled up and irritated. He is someone that some really love and some really love to hate. Just like Tom Lykis (do they have him in Kansas?) who about half his callers are calling to complain and argue with him gets lots of listeners when he is very disliked. Their job is to irritate people so much that they keep coming back and to make the others feel like they have a savior in his words.

I'm reminded of the movie "Talk Radio" with Eric Bogosian. At the end it has voice overs of people calling in to a show after he's shot. ONe caller says something like..."He had people calling in for hours arguing whether to have the toilet paper roll over or under."

I heard Limbaugh and Hillary had a thing going on.

Hillary told him to take off his clothes and make a woman out of her.

He disrobed, handed his clothes to her and said "Starch the shirt this time"

Actually, Rush told that joke himself years ago, only his response was "here, fold these."
