The government has had record high revenues for the last few years and Democrats still wanted to raise taxes. You’re right, the tax rate could go down but don’t count on it with all the new spending that Clinton and Obama are proposing.

The Democrats also didn't have to fund a war because Bill didn't have the balls to do what he should have done. They also didn't have to bail out thousands of people on the gulf coast that were in some bad ass hurricanes. We are facing many more challenges than Clinton ever faced during his time in office.

Bill did make some serious spending cuts by downsizing the military and cutting intelligence funding.

Then Bush took the heat for poor intelligence and a military not properly equipped.

Did Willy cut the military? You bet he did. I remember having to cancel training because we didn't have the gas to get our howitzers out of the motorpool and cancel ranges because we didn't have the money for bullets. We had vehicles that had to wait on parts because the money wasn't there to get what we needed....

I won't pay more taxes than I do now, I don't make that much. It is the rich who make the majority of their income from capital gains and dividends on stocks at a 15% tax rate that have to worry.

If they (Dems) roll back the Bush tax cuts you will pay more. Unless you make virtually NO money you will pay more taxes. If you were in the 15% before the Bush tax cuts you pay 10% now. If you were in the 28% you now pay 15%, if you were in the 31% under Clinton you now pay 25%. If these are "rolled back" tell me how your taxes won't increase?
