I remember when they used to have good concerts at the Civic Center. I can remember seeing REO, BTO, Missouri and some others that I don't seem to remember who it was. Must have been good though.

Does the Civic Center have a promotor that goes out and tries to find decent acts to come to Dodge?

I know quite a few years ago, when all the good concerts stopped, I heard some city official big wig said there would never be another rock concert at the Civic Center. He seems to have been right, because there hasn't been one since.

His excuse was they were bad for Dodge City's image. OK, so flooding the city with illegals is good for the city, and rock concerts are bad.

Reminds me of a funny incident with our band.

So we want to play in the park with our band, can't remember the name there has been so many, and I go to the city to get all the permits. We get all setup in the band shell with lots of people waiting, when the police show up and tell us we need to pack up and leave.

I showed them my permits I got from the city, but was told they thought we were with Arts in the Park and thats why we were given permits. Well we told the people we couldn't play and all hell broke loose. Needless to say they went ahead and let us play because a riot was the other option.

Yeah, and somebody left an empty liquor bottle in the rest rooms, so they got pissed because they missed out on the revenue!

Me and Army Strong just stopped by the Civic Center to see if Willie was there so we could say HI. IF YOU STILL WANT TICKETS they just released some that are right up front. They have like 8 of them left. If you move now you can still score a ticket.
