I'm sure that there are plenty of nice vegetarians that I could enjoy "hanging with." I sure don't dislike all vegetarians just because I do dislike one in particular. Who knows I might even like this one in real life, that is, if his personality and character isn't like the @sshole he lets on to be in his online persona.

Well, I don't dislike meat-eaters...I'm about to be married to one! And a smoker to boot...(although I hope he will quit). I just wish that attacks on one group didn't take precedence over attacks on others -- I mean, imagine if I came on here and said that Catholics had no brains -- or those who believed in God were idiots -- that wouldn't be tolerated. Neither should an attack on vegetarianism. (I don't think either thing, and was actually raised Catholic and confirmed...although I can't really say what I am now, probably agnostic with Catholic tendencies). God, who knows? heh hehe

The funny thing about these boards, and about computer conversations in general, is how different they can actually make a person seem than they are in real-life...People just come across differently. I know this person who you speak of and he's a nice guy. I say this knowing it will probably make some people on this board decide to turn against me, and since I've only lived in this town since August of this year when I was transplanted from Chicago and New England, I am not on these boards to make enemies. But I have to speak out for this guy because he's a cool person. I am not sure what happened on these talk boards between you and him, but that's all I'm going to say right now. I do know that differences in politics and personal beliefs seem to really spark people's nerves and emotions, kind of like a microcosm of what's going on in our country right now. There are always going to be people who believe different things, and I just wish that it didn't divide people so much.

Good luck with that!!! LOL So you know DCV? He's probably a really cool guy - we've heard that before, so it's gotta be true. He has his opinions and that's fine - but he just has a low tolerance for anyone else's opinion. The name calling got kinda out of control. And there were other things that burned some people out. They certainly seem to be having fun other there now, though - so they probably just needed to clean house!

So....you moved here from the "windy city" and found out what it's really like to have wind! Welcome to the area, and good luck with your man. I gave up smoking about 3 months ago, but don't ever plan to give up eating meat.

Yes, we moved here in August. I was a little nervous because although I am from a small town in Massachusetts, it's much more rural here. I am glad to be out of Chicago, though. The big city really got old. What was funny about the nickname "the Windy City" is that it actually has nothing to do with the wind. It was named that because of the tendency of its politicians to be bought and sold, to sway this way and that, if you will.

How did you give up smoking - cold turkey, or cutting back?
