Yeah, it is very true...mostly everyone I have met around here have been cool so far -- much nicer than in New England and Chicago -- so I'm liking it, despite the lack of trees!

I sat down and figured how much those cartons of camel lights were costing me each month, between that and the fact that I'm now in my 40's I quit cold turkey. Of course, I had to be frugal and finish the last carton I bought first...didn't want to just throw away that money.

Good for you Bubba! I like to think that when a smoker quits, the government makes up for the lost tax revenue by raising some other tax that the non-smokers have to pay. That way all the complainers get hit in the wallet.

I was spending between $120 and $150 per month on smokes. So, I figured I could do better things with my money. That dollar amount only gets you 4-5 cartons of camel lights, and I couldn't handle the cheap generic ones, so I just quit.

I sure wish money was as motivating for him as it is for you! At least when it comes to cigarettes...

I'm trying to save it for a new Harley! I would much rather have a Harley than a cigarette. So, now I put $140 a month into an internet savings account. I think it's paying like 4% interest, I have it automatically pulled from my checking account every payday. Then, when I have a little extra cash I send it to the account too. I think I have a little over $1000 already. Will have my Harley before you know it. The first couple of weeks were the hardest, now I don't even really miss them at all!

Yup - much healthier to stop smoking and put the money away on a motorbike. Anyway - it'll last a lot longer! Way to go, Bubba!
