| My kids wrestle and even when Dodge hosts a tournament and 400 families come to town it doesn't get any attention either-- unless we take the pictures and submit them ourselves. It sucks- Good job Monster! |

| In defense of the globe...they probably have one sports reporter. Given that the Globe covers not only Dodge but reports on the scores of the surrounding smaller towns it is impossible for that ONE guy to be at every event. I guess they decide which events will generate the most interest among a majority of their readers.....Dodge City Boys Basketball or Darts...hmmmm.

| I used to fight with John Curtis about this all the time. His excuse was that if it wasn't local (meaning here in DC) it was not of interest to the Globe. Hell, we had local kids competing on the professional level in worldwide events, but the Globe didn't care back then either! If it wasn't for the friggin' Obits & Grocery adds, I wouldn't even buy the Glob! I read the Hutch and Wichita papers for "news and knowledge"! One thing I will say though, is that we have requested a "Police Log" for years. They finally did get somewhat of that in, even if it is partial. Seems like everything is a "secret" around this town.  |

| OK. So it's not of interest, I can handle that, but my even saying something was in response to a different thread that asked a question along the lines of: "What are you doing to get out and represent Dodge City in a positive light?". I realise that what I did matters very little to 99.99% percent of this board, and that in the grand scheme of things it is a drop in the ocean, but I thought I'd mention it because our victory bought up many questions (while we were there) about Dodge City, all of which I did my best to answer in a positive light. Notyoubob - when you do something that you are even remotely proud of remind me to piss all over it and say "No one gives a damn".

| Don't forget me! Congrats! Darts are something I only play after I've had one too many cold ones. Lots of fun - but I can't hit the broad side of a barn. It generally makes for lots of laughs!

| I think what he did is outstanding and should be congratulated. It's a pretty big time feat....but it's not worthy of the Globe in the scheme of things. I would rather read about Royals spring training that some dude throwing darts.
