HUH??? Have you every been in an M1A1 tank? It's NOTHING BUT armor. W sending our troops over with no armor is a very slanted statement that is misleading. YOu sound like a MSNBC mouthpiece. Most of the soldiers had protective vests and such but they have better one's now. Not all soldiers had the newest and best of everything but it's always been that way. In the military you make due with what you have. (note Valley Forge where men marched through snow with rags around their feet)

You are right....as a civilian you or anyone else doesn't need to know EVERYTHING the gov't does. We elect leaders to ensure our life and liberty. I don't really care how it happens as long as it happens. There are things that happen in the middle of the night that we will never know about nor do we need to know about. It's better that way because those people make decisions that a lot of civilians wouldn't understand.

I continue to see a lot of looking backward and pointing blame and not much looking forward as to why it’s in our long term interest to not let Iraq fall apart.

For too many American's though it seems the only long term interest is their own!

Very much before 9/11...ever heard of the Crusades. Christians at war with the Muslims. Hmmmm

When will you realize there is no "winning" this war. It has been going on for centuries and will probably go on for centuries more. We do, however, have the choice to not actively participate in the war that the jihadists are waging. We can choose to not allow more of our troops to be killed in a war that will never end. We are playing into what the radical muslims want, by staying there and giving them easily accessible targets.

There is no pill to take to get rid of the way the radical muslims think of us. In their eyes, WE are the BULLY. We came into "their" land and are forcing "our" way of thinking onto them. That is what they think! If we leave will the war end? No. But, the violence will soon subside after we leave.

But what is an elected leader??? A Civilian that was chosen by other civilians to do their will. Remember this country is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

You elect them to do the will of the people yes but also to do what is right for the country based on the beliefs of that leader and those that support him. Bush is going to see this thing through...as opposed to Clinton who took a poll every time he needed to shit to see which hand he would wipe his ass with. Leadership is doing what's right...not what's popular.

The average American doesn't have the intel that our leaders are privy to. All they know is what they read in the newspaper or on the internet. That information alone is NOT enough to make an informed, intelligent decision. People are thinking about Iraq emotionally which is not a good thing.

So it's all our fault Rev Jeremiah?

How do you know what the Iraqi's think? You REALLY think the violence will subside after we leave? I believe that is extremely naive. The Turks are just up north waiting....there's Iran and all of the factions in Iraq....and you think after we leave these people will get together and do what...have a group hug and sing Kumbayah...come on.

You're right, let's just drop several nuclear bombs on the area. Or, as Bush would say....nucular bombs.

That reminds me of a certain politician that claims he had the best judgment because he opposed the Iraq war. He was at the time a member of a state legislature and not privy to any high level intel. You can’t make a judgment without facts. What he had was an opinion. Opinions and back sides are something that we all have but it doesn’t rise to the level of judgment.

In other news, here’s your change.

Obama Adviser Calls for Troops To Stay in Iraq Through 2010

By ELI LAKE, STAFF REPORTER OF THE SUN | April 4, 2008

WASHINGTON — A key adviser to Senator Obama’s campaign is recommending in a confidential paper that America keep between 60,000 and 80,000 troops in Iraq as of late 2010, a plan at odds with the public pledge of the Illinois senator to withdraw combat forces from Iraq within 16 months of taking office.....
