Summer Olympics in China... WHY?!?

As the olympics draw close and I listen to the news I wonder why the IOC chose to have the olympics in China of all places. They are accused of human rites abuses, are killing monks as I type this, have horrible polluted air and to top it all off reporters won't even be able to use the internet because China has it closed down. Also athletes are subject to having their rooms searched at any time....ugh. WHY?

And this is the country that "owns" most of the US at the moment, and keeps gobbling up more as we keep borrowing money from them and buying their inferior products.

From what I read EVERYTHING about having the olympics in China has been a pain in the ass for everyone from the people competing to the networks that have paid millions of dollars to broadcast it.

This is a chance for Bush and the rest of the world to slap China in the face for how they treat their people....I'm not sure why they won't do it.

I don't know about the rest of the world ....but as for USA...I heard it explained this way.... Bush won't because we cannot afford to piss off the Chinese government..... they will call in all the loans they gave us.

No it would not End the War that has been in progress for thousands of years...and will go on thousands of years after we have spent all our troops and resources.

Al Qadeda ? You know what it reminds me of....(go figure)... It reminds me of the little folks that wore black pajamas and coolie hats in a similar war... The whole damn country wore them... Impossible to distinguish the bad guys from the good guys.

Thousands or years? I thought we have only been in Iraq a few years. I guess you are talking about some covert operation I didn't know about that started thousands of years ago. I guess I need my security clearance updated.
