Yep, MIT, a few weeks after the tornado, we had a picnic at the office in Lee's Summit, invited all our agents and all our neighbors, collected a big moving van full of items - water, some clothing, canned goods, kitchen articles, soaps, towels, etc. - and a couple of us drove down there with it. It was very humbling.
Just in case you forgot, I am friends with the wife of the Stafford County Sheriff's officer that was killed. There were tremendous sacrifices made by more than a handful of people. They didn't moan and groan about disaster aid. They pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and carried on. They deserve to have that recognized by the President of the United States, no matter what his politics.
