Was also out at 6th and Soule at noon. Yeah people don't understand the 4-way stop thing when power is out! They all sat there looking up at the lights waiting on them to come on!

Mags...thats probably because the 4 way stop rule loses something in the translation when applying for a drivers license

You guys heard about all the damage up here? Scary! Sonnyboy had to hit the basement with the baby. Fell asleep behind a mattress leaned up against the basement wall. Cell phone wouldn't even work for a while. Finally got ahold of him. Woke him up! We had two storms - one arounmd 8'ish and it spawned some mean wind, a little hail and quite a bit of rain. The one that hit around 2am was really mean wind, no hail and a whole lot of rain. The pics of destroyed homes and businesses look pretty bad, but there were no serious injuries or deaths. That's the important part. The insurance will pay for the rest......hoo boy. We'll be busy next week when the claims all get filed...

I heard it got pretty nasty up there Muffie. Hope you all made it thru all right. I talked to some guys that came thru there on Amtrak around the time it hit around 2 am, and they said they barely made it through.

Talked to my nephew and they had some property damage. Thank God no injuries. Just scared and huddled in the basement.

I didn't have any damage from it, but our neighborhood is too new (less than 10 years), so we have all the young trees that bend and don't break off in the wind. And the roofs are reasonably sound. Didn't see any shingles in the yards, anyway.

Sonny boy did, however, have some damage - he was about 3 blocks from one of the touchdowns. I think his is roof and maybe a little siding - he lives in an older neighborhood where the roofs and siding are just a little older and more apt to give way under the pressure from wind. We're just glad there were no serious injuries or loss of life. You can rebuild, but you can't replace a loved one.

Sunny and gorgeous up here today. Nice day for a graduation! I don't think any are scheduled for today - the idiots up here think Mother's Day is a great day for graduation. I think that sucks! Let Mom have her own day and not have to share it with everybody else! Step-daughter will receive her master's next weekend. Mother's Day. Hmmm. Her mother will be in town - talk about tornadoes......

Nephew sent photos..... 4 of his trees down...He said " Don't come over without a chainsaw" ....LOL
