| Looks like it's time to get a new car! Dealer Offers Free Gun With Car Purchase - Kansas City News Story - KMBC Kansas City BUTLER, Mo. -- A local car dealer is holding a controversial promotion involving guns. Max Motors in Butler is offering anyone who buys a car the choice of $250 in gas or a free semi-automatic handgun. "Like I say, it's a choice -- protection or gas," said Walter Moore with Max Motors.

| They had the owner on the news last night. I dunno. I don't think it's a bad thing. I agree - sometimes we feel like the value of our car doubles if it has a full tank! Not long before driving away without paying is going to be a felony! (ok, maybe that was a little over the edge...) People are having to go without a whole lot, especially if they have minimum wage jobs in the first place. What is to stop them from stealing anything you own.....except that gun in your hand. It's still a choice. If you don't like the idea of a free gun (you still have to pass the background check), then take the other offer. That's pretty simple.

| Personally, i'd take the gun. I can buy gas, sometimes. But I can't replace myself if I can't protect myself. Would come in handy when I get my CCW.
