And we all get painted with the same brush by uppity Europeans trying desperately to feel superior to their friends across the pond.

But don’t worry Binky, if another tyrant attacks England or France we’ll be right there to help you out. Just don’t expect American gun owners to send over any of our personal firearms to defend yourselves with. Some of us still remember how you dumped the last batch into the ocean.

You cannot serve both God and Money
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil
a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" Matthew
I'm reading each of these to say putting the want for money above all else is bad. None of these are saying being wealthy is a sin, but that to worship money is.

Exactly what is wrong with the US today. The "buck" controls everything!

It's not a question of "trying desperately to feel superior" and no-one is painting all Americans with the same brush, please don't get so defensive Highwayman.

Thanks Highwayman, its good to know you'll be there, don't worry about rusing across the channel to France ..... :)

Personally I would say that Americans I have met have always been very kind and generous, and very mannerly, more so than many English! Also Americans are more "open" than their European counterparts. I was referring to the general perception non-Americans have of the US.
