It's a sad, sad day in the world of rodeo



Clem McSpadden, 82, dies

Clem McSpadden of Chelsea, Okla., a man whose distinct western voice was known from the marble floors of the state Capitol to the dirt rodeo arenas across America, died Monday night (July 7) at age 82 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Clem was the long-time announcer at Dodge City's Roundup Rodeo.

For several years I had the great pleasure to work alongside Clem in the announcer's booth and I honestly haven't met a nicer person.
