| Current comments from that site: Dar wrote: 5h 53m ago If one was to give a private scholarship to a foreigner, why give it to a criminal rather than one living in foreign city? If one really cared about the plight of foreigners of some country, why not push for unilateral free trade with that country and its neighbors. That would allow people to benefit from the economy without moving here illegally. It also would help this economy, too, especially if the feds stop borrowing. Many colleges have foreign exchange programs. Why spit on those? I don't care how talented they may be, they are still illegal. We don't owe them anything except a one-way ticket back to their real home country. |

| Mr Lopez states that it is unfortunate that illegals do not qualify for in-state tuition rates. WHAT!!? Is he really so racist and biased that he believes illegal aliens from Mexico deserve lower tuition rates than U.S. Citizens from Oklahoma?

| While I agree that illegal is illegal, those kids were probably brought over here at a very young age, and it's not their fault their parents decided to come illegally, but did you not read the good in that story? They wanted to learn, and were good students. I'm sure I'm going to catch hell for this, but why does everyone have to make negative out of something good? Yes they were illegal, BUT they weren't out committing crimes. Not all people who are here, legally or illegally are criminals. I hope that because their parents brought them illegally, that won't interfere with them (the kids) trying to become citizens and coming back to finish their education if that's what they want to do. You can't take it out on the child because the parents made bad decisions. At least they weren't low life scum who only committed crimes, got high and drank all day. They were trying to make something of themselves regardless of their "status". I'm so sick of all these poor kids who are treated differently because of their parents, no matter what race they are. The saying goes, you can pick your friends but not your family. They can't help it that their parents make the decisions they do. Yet everyone automatically thinks that oh because little Johnny's mom and dad are meth heads that's all little Johnny's going to amount to, or little Susie's parents were murderers or rapists she's going to be like that too. I've seen so many kids who come from good families who are well known in the community, that are in trouble all the time. Don't judge the kids by what their parents do. |

| Because, illegal is illegal. Ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it and if you say oh this one kid or this one groups of kids... well they are just OK kids and they aren't giving us any problems. Who makes the determination of who is an OK illegal and who isn't? If they are that good and that ambitious here then they should be JUST as good and JUST as ambitious in Mexico too. And really, isn't that what Mexico needs? If more of them were ambitious and worked hard to reform their own nation instead of abandoning it wouldnt' we all be much better off?

| I didn't say any illegal was ok, you must not have read where I posted mother and father probably bringing them at a young age. I'm sure they didn't just show up yesterday. They probably couldn't tell their parents no mommy and daddy we can't go it's illegal. Come on, you're smarter than that. I also didn't say it was wrong of them to get deported with their parents, but if they want to go through the correct channels to get back over then great for them. As I said, don't blame the kids for the mistakes their parents make. |

Do you honestly think that will ever happen? It doesn't matter how many ambitious people there are down there, people are still going to make their way up here. I'm sure Mexico could be just as good if not better than USA and for some reason they would still come here. |
| ||||
| if mexico was as good as the usa there would be no reason to come here. what the he$$ happen to the great sucking sound ross p warned us of. |

| I don't think anyone is wanting to punish the kids for their parents mistakes, but they don't want to see the kids AND the parents rewarded for breaking the law. Put the parents in jail and send the kids back to stay with relatives. That's what we do to American criminals.
