First, thanks for sharing the story. I do take issue with your above statement.

Banning concealed carry has been called “reasonable.”

A total ban on handguns has been called “reasonable.”

Banning rifles of the type that you bought no so long ago has been called “reasonable.”

I don’t thing that you would be happy with those so-called “reasonable” restrictions. The fact is EVERY proposed restriction is claimed to be “reasonable” and “common-sense.” By claiming to support “reasonable” restrictions it allows the folks that would take away our rights to falsely claim that they have the support of gun owners for whatever crazy idea they come up with.

I have 4 hunting guns (that's all I know about them) in gun cases hidden in the closet and another hand gun without ammo in the kitchen (don't ask why it's there - I think it was the emptiest storage spot at the time). So while I have all the firepower I could ever want, I wouldn't know the first thing about making them work, nor do I have any ammo. The guns actually belong to my boys, who don't want them in their own home (one in MO and one in DC). So mom has become the storage center!

A couple dozen M72 LAW rockets.

200 lbs of C4

One loose cannon.

A tactical nuke.

An M1 Abrams in the garage for days when the traffic is really bad.

I have surrounded my compound with a “no-man’s” zone of land mines bordered on both sides with razor wire to keep out pesky liberals, nosey Englishmen and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
