| The "Rev" Jackson does more to hurt black people than they will ever realize.

| Wonder how many of the afore mentioned LIVING examples of leadership will be present or for that matter wany to be associated with the event?.... I for one felt if there was evidence that said Tookie was innocent than he should not be "put down"....... obvioulsy there wasn't evidence present so - he got put to sleep. Forever. Maybe we should celebrate Charles Manson for bringing cults to the forefront. Maybe we could "tip our hats" to Wayne Gayse for teaching us to keep up with our young boys. I just don't know about society anymore........ and this kinda thing makes me even care less about the Rev than I already do.

| I can't help but wonder what would have become of his gang if Tookie would have been squashed like a bug almost immediately after his murder spree. How many lives were taken by crips members after his incarceration? "Hundreds" were mentioned... Yes, our legal system gave us Justice; but not Deterrence. Now the most un-holy Rev. Jackson is trying to display him as a martyr in the white man's system. He doesn't want peace...

| Hey, Hey, Hey......HW and Lurker........ I said IF IF IF there was evidence that cleared him............ good lord fellas!!!......... you sound as irate as I am on the immigrant issue............. I didn't even know who Tookie was till JJ started campaignin to cut him loose. Like I said......... IF there was evidence to the contrary - obviously there wasn't - so he is now gone. I'm in Texas - remember?....... we fry more than anyone else in the nation. I am not against the death penalty - only IF the case has not been taken to the limit of the law do I have a problem. Tookie's was and a COURT said his sentence should be upheld..... end of story for me. I only worry bout the ones on death row that the Harris County Forensics had anything to do with. They are a mess and I believe innocent folks are on death row due to shabby forensics or none at all. We are dealing with that in Texas all the time. I can't even imagine (nor do I care a whole lot) how California handels "bad labs". Not my worry....... certainly not Tookie's either. If the court and the gov. said he was a schmuck - than for history's page he was. Don't know why they would be celebrating that guy anyhow. Lot's of better blacks around to be celebrated in my opinion..........
