Wordy has every right to dislike people based on personal habit. We all do it to some extent. Again I say far more people are killed by alcohol than second hand smoke, but then again far more people drink making that evil OK.

Its helps when you can support your point of view by claiming it harms Innocent people, although alcohol again kills far more innocent people, but it really only shows prejudice in my opinion. I'm not a drinker but I don't expect them to be treated any differently because they do.

I personally think banning smoking OUTSIDE is going too far. The non-smoking groups have pushed to get MOST places to be non-smoking entirely (even some bars) and smokers have to "take it outside". I do however think that when smokers go outside that they should smoke somewhere besides right in front of the entrance door. This happens frequently and non-smokers have to pass through the smoke. Has anyone noticed that Applebee's has moved smoking to the bar only?

Sometimes I don’t need to be. I’ve even thought about just posting links to old threads instead of typing responses on this subject.

No kidding, LOTS of material there! When it started to come out in the newspapers here in Yankeeland about Cincy, Dayton, Cleve, and Columbus considering banning smoking everywhere, suddenly there were some Govt surveys coming out about second hand smoke not being nearly as dangerous as was thought and that was what the antis had been blowing their horn about so much. As far as im concerned, the only thing anyone has to worry about is when they try to tell me when and where I can and cant smoke, especially in a restaraunt or bar that is designated smoking or has designated smoking areas, anywhere outside (which I think is discrimination), in my home or vehicle. I do my best to be polite and considerate of non smokers, to the point of going waaay out of my way for THEIR comfort. Why?? To just get hot mouthed about some more? To hell with it. If they want to tell me that I cant smoke outside, on or inside my property the only worry about second hand smoke for them is what I create, which will be the smoke coming out the end of my gun barrel and that stuff is deadly!

All that’s needed is a little common sense and courtesy (something that is becoming uncommon) on both sides. Army has the right idea. Most folks do. But a small group of folks found out they could become hysterical and bully others around. It’s like what is said about rape being a power thing rather that just sex.
