Personally - I respect your right to think and vote what you want. I do altho think that in this instance - we are at war - he is thier commander in chief - who better to go see him than the men / women willing to die for our country?

Now I understand - how convieniant to use that as a reason not to get asked the hard questions. What ever you may think - it is still the right thing to do - give tickets to Ft Riley.

BTW - I liked Clinton but didn't vote for him cause I felt he was in it for the money.......and the women........ so guess I was right too......... See how this works........ ain't America great???????

I agree wholeheartedly. Believe or not there are soldiers that are Liberal (unfortunately) but there are so it's not that all soldiers support Bush blindly.

I wonder why the soldiers, sailors and marines who work long days, spend much time from their families and may have to pay the ultimate sacrifice overwhelmingly vote Republican and on the other hand you have the people that suck from society, the takers, the people that sit on their ass and won't work, collect government checks day in and day out and basically offer nothing positive to our society but being a leech....vote overwhelmingly Democrat.....

Bush Explains Medicare Drug Bill — Verbatim Quote
Submitted on 2005-12-13

WOMAN IN AUDIENCE: 'I don't really understand. How is it the new plan going to fix the problem?'

Verbatim response: PRESIDENT BUSH:

'Because the — all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculated, for example, is on the table. Whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those — changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be — or closer delivered to that has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the — like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate — the benefits will rise based upon inflation, supposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those — if that growth is affected, it will help on the red.'

You think Bush put that together by himself??? You know a sitting president can't win - on anything.

There were committees upon committees that put this thing together - it was bipartisan.......as always.

Is this the best thing you can come up with? If you understand it so well why don't you give my 76yo sister a call and explain it to her. While your at it why don't you explain it to the whole US. This was not a Bush proposal. He didn't dream this up by himself.

I must say tho that basing the price of drugs on the pay of a retired person is fairer than letting the drug companies set the price. If the cost of living goes up with the price of drugs many seniors can't pay the bill. My sister got a 500 a year raise in SS........ the insurance now goes up. Hopefully this plan will keep the costs affordable to seniors so they can afford medicine if it's based on their actual income rather than the income of the average worker. It's a separate plan of protection for the elderly. There are and will be kinks. When the other party gets in maybe they can address the fact that there are seniors buying cat food because they can't afford to buy meat.

But back to the issue - WHO would you rather have the tickets given to???? Someone that doesn't respect the President anyway? Or maybe someone that is fighting for your right to vote your mind in the next election.

Sorry I still go with the Fort Riley group. And the truth is not ALL soldiers are republicans altho many are because the republicans stand for a strong military. They need support to do thier job......... they rely on republicans for that.

Klinton had a woman thrown in jail for saying something he didn’t like. And I thought Democrats were the party of tolerance.

Oh stupid me............. it's Wordie's......... I didn't know where it came from either but I took it as real. I've heard democrats mumble as incoherently as my sometimes discomfobulated GW - I didn't vote for him on his ability to master a language that no one understands........POLITICS

I voted for him cause I found him to be a man of his word when he was governor. I was scared and have been scared of every democrat I have seen run. I just don't make enough money to support every whiney ass minority group and special interest group in the world. I wanna take care of my own back yard and expect others to do the same.
