Local Dodge City Teacher arrested

I heard something very disturbing from my son. There are rumors going around that a Dodge City teacher from the Intermediate Center was arrested alledgedly for sexual inppropriaties with a student. If this is true, it's a bad sign for our school district. Anybody got the skinny on this rumor? Is it true?

According to my son, all the kids are talking about it. Someone must know something.

I would suggest you call your school board members and ask. BEFORE you start a rumor. If it is not true can you imagine the damage you could do with this kind of question? If there is an ivestigation going on you may not get any info. If this is the case you should treat it as such - just rumor and tell you son and his friends to be more careful about putting a career in jepordy. If it is indeed fact - you should ask your school board why they have not sent letters, made a statement, or something to alert parents and students (potential victems) about the issue. Rumors can be extrememly hard to overcome in a town like Dodge.

It was on the news last nite. They interviewed John Ball about it. He said it was under investigation! I say, read the Hutch paper. You will find out about a week before the Glob covers it!!

Well in that case........... let the conversations begin!!! Seems DC is just movin right up in the world......... sorry to hear that there is even an investigation but keep in mind it's JUST that. Some kids will say ANYTHING if they are pissed off enough. Then again it's easy to target kids if you are the trusted teacher.......... Hope it works out

It comes with the job Tex. When your working with kids like that you need to Cover your ass and don't put yourself in sticky situations so you can be accused of something, which is hard to do because your the teacher and you want to help the student learn. Some cases though are fact and it's sad that an adult would take advantage of some child like that, it messes their head up and they won't be right for years. Just messed up!! My opinion is they ought to have cameras in all schools so if your accused of something like this you have something to back you up. Cameras don't lie!

Anytime I heard of a young person being taken advantage of, I feel sorry for them. Then again, this could be an example where kids, for one reason or other, tell stories that aren't true. From what I've heard, there were witnesses. How sick is that?

Pootsy - that's a good idea....... wonder why they haven't done that. Seems if Burger King, McDonalds, and convience stores could afford camera the school certainly could. Sure would help....... altho most of the time it's "off campus" that events occur. I just know some kids will say and do anything if they feel they have been "called out" over a crush on a teacher. There are so many good teachers - the few that are schmucks that make it to the headlines make it hard for the dedicated ones.

mitUSA - are you tryin to tell us sumthin you think we don't know???? LOL and for Wordie....... of course it's no big deal now - all the teachers are probably the age of your kids &/or your wife.......... where's the fun in that???????
