District speed cameras post top month

Maybe Dodge City could impliment a few of these speed cameras (radar/camera unit), I could see putting a couple on 14th both south and north, on Wyatt Earp from 14th to around Ave. F (??wherever the 30 mph zone ends), on Trail St. and a few other locations. Maybe if enough revenue was generated from speeders, it woud help lower our property taxes.

They will NEVER lower your property taxes...they would just squander the money elsewhere. When was the last time there was any type of tax cut in DC? I don't know...but I would guess it hasn't been any time soon.

I agree once they get the taxes up there they'll never bring them down. Too many things they can waste the money on.

I think they could make a mint in the school zones....... I never saw such disrespect of speed in school zones as I did when I lived there. I learned to drive in Texas and I tell ya what - ya don't speed in a school zone and if your smart ya go 5 more mph slower than posted. They nail ya to a tree down here for that. It's an easy catch and good $$

Going slower than the posted speed limit can cause an accident.... If the speed limit is 20 then they can't stop you for doing 20...no sense in going 5 unders....

If the majority is doin 15 and your doin 20 - they can't ticket ya unless they pull the ole "flow of traffic" on ya. Course now ya also need to realize we go bout 80 - 90 on the freeway on a good day. We also don't follow the construction 50 mph thing too good either for the most part but we do take our school zones seriously.

Yeah TK, and the 18 wheelers down there drive down the middle of the road and force everyone else to the shoulder.

They could really make a bundle at DCRP #2 aka Cherry street between south 2nd. & Water Sports. Hell, they can even catch some of them driving backwards and double the fines. Have lots od money to waste.

You might be laughin there but the truth is they do. Very few folks like 18 wheelers cause they do hog the road and they don't stay in the far right lane like they are supposed to. They have caused so many fatalities that folks are just fed up with them. They are often inconsiderate and impede the flow of traffic. Course around here much of our 18 wheelers have hazardous cargo and the drivers are more of a danger when they are bein jerks. I have never seen a neighborhood evacuated cause a cattle truck jack knifed and "lost it's load"........ For awhile the truck were just runnin over cars and they really took the truckers to task. It's better now but they did ban them to the far right lane - course ya got jerks wherever ya go. Round here we got more than our share.
