Good party line. I'd say keep that up but then I know you can't help it.

Have any of you ever watched the crowd during a rodeo, a baseball game, a football game, etc, when they play the National Anthem?? Their are a lot of people that do not display their patriotism by the "hand over the heart" pose. However, I am not one of them. I still find myself "saluting" at times, but I do put my hand over my heart, and I be quiet and respect the flag and the anthem!

MIT, if you feel like saluting then salute dammit. You earned that right. I feel proud to be able to salute during the National Anthem...because there are a lot of people not willing to make the sacrifice that it takes to be able to do that.

My my, look at the responses.

First let me remind everyone that neither party can win an election with their party base alone. It requires a large block of those moderate, independent voters. Ignoring proper flag manners might help with the far left lunatic fringe but it won’t endear a candidate to mainstream voters.

The flag represents our country and what we as Americans stand for. It also represents all those who served in the military that sacrificed to protect us and our way of life. That makes failing to show proper respect for the flag a strange thing to do when one is applying for the job of CIC. The man’s youth and inexperience will be his defeat in this election.

Here we had a woman that isn’t as gifted as a Whitney Huston trying her best to sing and some of you folks chose to attack her efforts as an excuse for another’s bad behavior. Shame on you.

And then there’s Wordy.

and for households making up to $80,000! I don't call a household making $80,000 a needy household.

around here it's not but not every place has the same cost of living as we do in Kansas.

But since a few who shouldn't get it MIGHT Bush keeps all kids from getting the care they need.

I wonder if good old Joe McCarthy always placed his hand over his oh-s0-patriotic heart?
