I don't always put my hand over my heart during the national anthem. In fact, I'd say less than half of the time does my hand travel north. Maybe even as little as one-fourth of the time.

I believe we're too nationalistic. I believe we're people first, citizens of whatever country we're from second. I think we focus too much on citizenship and too little on the humanity that binds us all together.

Does that mean I don't have the right to live here in the United States?
