| The left begin abandoning Hillary. Now I consider myself fiscally conservative with a libertarian streak when it comes to government and a bit more liberal when it comes to social issues. I guess I'd say I'm against taxes, for smaller government and for a woman's right to choose although I'm against abortion on a personal level. I just want everybody to know where I sit before I tell you where I stand. I am an avid reader of political stuff, whatever that stuff may be and whereever that stuff may come from. I read right wing stuff and left wing stuff. That being said, I am noticing that the rats are starting to leave the Hillary ship. Note the following 2 entries from the left wing e-zine "Slate" Experience is not one of Hillary Clinton's assets. - By Timothy Noah - Slate Magazine The case against Hillary Clinton. - By Christopher Hitchens - Slate Magazine From Wikipedia: Slate's focus and editorial slant is politically liberal, as seen in choice of columnists, choice of and position on topics, and featured cartoon, Doonesbury. During the 2004 U.S. presidential campaign, a significant majority of staff and contributors supported Democratic challenger John Kerry. A more fine-grained analysis puts Slate slightly to the left of The New Republic, but still to the right of Salon.com or The Nation. It includes many voices of the Clintonian / Democratic Leadership Council / neoliberal point of view. Both of these writers are firmly entrenched left wing journalists. When your own machine turns against you I think the writing is on the wall. Obama looks like the Dem's choice.

| Isn’t that why the left is abandoning Hillary?

| Do you think Obama would have a chance? Seriously?

| I don't think Obama has a chance of beating a Republican in the fall. I think the Democrats have essentially put themselves in a no win situation. Neither of them could hold the south which is required to win the Oval Office.

| I’ve seen those expert pundits that watch all of the polls make wrong predictions all of the time. What chance do I have with predictions? My take on Obama is that his youth and inexperience will be his undoing when the large block of older voters comes out. Some believe that the fair weather in NH gave Hillary the advantage with an unexpected turnout of the little old lady vote. These early primaries are going to influence things in a way that isn’t good in the long run IMO. I think that the biggest factors in November will be what happens between now and then. The housing market /economy, progress in Iraq and another year of a do-nothing Congress will be big factors.

| I firmly believe that if G.W. Bush can be elected President, then anybody can!

| I kinda think, as a Republican, that the dems are doing us a favor by pitting a woman candidate against a black candidate. I don't think Americans are ready for either. We're too far in an economic slump, there are too many factions wanting special interests and we're at war. We'll see what happens when the votes are counted, but I just don't think the dems are putting their best foot forward right now. Don't get me wrong, I think Obama is well-spoken and his appearances are polished and a year ago, I might have voted for him myself. Hillary is also well spoken and polished. I just don't think America is ready for anything quite that new.

| Con-artists are also “well spoken and polished.”
