If you really want things to change you should wait for a third party canidate to vote for. Of course that would be throwing your vote away to make a point, but to change to the other good ole' boy party is a waste as well.

If Ron Paul wasn't so waaaaaaaaaaaayy out there on some issues I think he says what the majority of people feel is the direction the country should take, which is less gov't more personal responsibility.

Somebody said in an earlier post that they hate the two party system. I agree totally but switching from one to the other for so-called change makes no sense unless you haved changed your position on some moral and personal positions, such as abortion, gun control etc.
It's a two party system because that's where all the money is. Until they (the politicians...meaning it won't happen) reform how money is raised and spent no outside 3rd or other party candidate will ever have a chance.

There will be change. Big gov't is big gov't but under the liberals if you work, are responsible and do the right thing you will pay.

Change is sometimes only a perception. I posted this link a few days ago that does a side by side comparison of some economic indicators between Clinton years and Bush years. Then it goes on to show how similar results were reported differently in the MSM. Check it out if you haven’t already. The fastest way to see real change in how things are is to change the channel.

Economic Conditions Portrayed as Positive During Clinton Presented as Negative for Bush

jeezeweeze,

This is Huckabee...check him out!

In this age of terror, immigration is not only an economic issue, but also a national security issue. Those caught trying to enter illegally must be detained, processed, and deported. As Governor, I ordered my state troopers to work with the Department of Homeland Security to arrest illegals and enforce federal immigration law.

I oppose and will never allow amnesty. I opposed the amnesty President Bush and Senator McCain tried to ram through Congress this summer, and opposed the misnamed DREAM Act, which would have put us on the slippery slope to amnesty for all.

I oppose and will not tolerate sanctuaries for illegals. The federal government must crack down on rogue cities that willfully undermine our economy and national security.

I oppose giving driver's licenses to illegals and supports legislation to prevent states from doing so. In 2005, I signed legislation that prevents illegals in Arkansas from getting driver's licenses.

I will stop punishing cities which try to enforce our laws and protect the economic well-being, physical safety, and quality of life of their citizens.
I oppose and will not tolerate employers who hire illegals. They must be punished with fines and penalties so large that they will see it is not worth the risk.

I oppose the economic integration of North America that would create open borders among the United States, Canada, and Mexico. I will never yield one iota or one inch of our sovereignty.

I will take our country back for those who belong here. No open borders, no amnesty, no sanctuary, no false Social Security numbers, no driver's licenses for illegals.

Mike Huckabee for President - Issues

Huckabee has the most views in common with myself, but unfortunately, he doesn't stand a chance in hell at winning the republican nomination for President.

Thanks for the site to check Huckabee.... I had formed an opinion of him but I have an open mind and will hopefully have a choice in November. I will do more research on him, as I will the others... I like what he says about immigration, but I am thinking like TK.... Can something be undone that was done over such a long period of time that it is the norm now. Laws were passed and those laws have been ignored for so long now, is it still even a law.

This is hopeful tho. Let local government handle their problems. Give power back to the people in each locale.

federal judges decision on immigration - Google News

I guess pandering to whatever voting block is just normal, and maybe I just haven't noticed it before. But it seems to me its blatantly in your face apparent now, and each candidate does what they gotta do to get elected.
Thats never gonna change. However I do feel with the ability of having the Internet tool, the exposure of the candidates or elected officials, via websites or whatever, will make them think twice. (maybe I am dreaming)
