Not to mention the price of a barrel of oil is over $100.00 which effects the price of EVERYTHING. Gasoline, electricity, airline tickets, heat for homes, groceries, consumer goods, you get the idea. The economy isn't as rosy as you think and the bottom isn't here yet. How's your 401k looking these days?

I didn't say the economy was rosy...but we aren't in a recession. Could it be better...hell yeah, but it could be a lot worse.

401K has been better but it's a marathon not a sprint. It's going to go up and down but will be up over the long run.

The up and down part are usually pretty good indicators of the economy.

I can't argue with that.

So let me ask you this? Is the economy back there really up a creek like we're hearing over here? I mean, the wife has given me permission to continue with my recruiter packet, but only if I can get Manhattan, because there are already 6 houses on my street for sale, so chances of getting what we paid for it are slim. So until this clears up, Ft. Riley is where I'll be.
Yes, the bush recession is here and things are getting tighter by the day. When Canadians and Europeans are SCRAMBLING to buy US goods because the dollar is weak you know the sh!t's hitting the fan.

This is the price we pay for protecting the environment. Don’t drill wells, don’t build refineries, promote ethanol, etc. Do your part and pay up.

I think you're sadly mistaken. This is the price WE pay for electing an oilman and his crooked buddies into the White House, for raising speed limits, for driving huge inefficient vehicles, etc. There is no shortage of gasoline or oil. If there was you wouldn't be able to buy it. Have you seen any stations with with a "Sorry we're outta gas sign" displayed. Hell, I could call a bulk dealer right now and order 10,000 galoons of fuel and they'd deliver it as long as I could pay for it. Quit drinking the Kool-Aid and think for yourself for a change. Shortage my ass!!

I didn't know protecting our environment was such a "price to pay".......I think there's more a price to pay if we don't.

This is about money and BIG profit......nothing else.

Amen. I like my drinking water pure and clean. Don't want it tasting like cow piss or some benzene laden hydrocarbon cocktail. Guess these super-right wingers around here think it makes the Koolaid taste good!!

Not to change the subject but where do you get that kind of water in Dodge?
