I went to the Sub State Girls Basketball Finals a week or so ago. I thought it was kinda funny how everybody raised a stink over Obama and the Anthem, and his hand placement. I observed at least 75% of the people in the stands without their hand on their heart for the playing of the National Anthem.

That’s been my point JW. Politicians lie to us anyway. They just as well put on a good front, however insincere it is.

Democrats Demise?

My, my. The Kos Kids aren’t playing well at all.

It looks like those folks have so much hate and discontent that there isn’t enough GOP to go around.

….Sadly, the majority of the administrators have allowed this hostile environment to develop in our online community for anyone who isn’t planted firmly in the Obama camp. They've routinely ignored personal attacks and allowed disruptive, spam-like posts to go unchecked whenever anyone expresses support for Hillary or challenges something their candidate has said or done. There are however several front-pagers who have managed to avoid taking part in the attacks on Hillary and for that I’m grateful. But the site has grown to the point where they simply can’t – or won’t monitor it.

As a result, our community has become little more than an echo chamber with an attitude that harkens back to the early days of Dubbya’s administration - yer either with us or yer a’gin us, heh! The attackers and disrupters are no better than Chris Matthews with their sexism, hate, lies, and obsession with bashing - all – things – Hillary…..
Daily Kos: State of the Nation

Personal attacks? Disruptive, spam-like posts? Sexism, hate and lies?

From the party of tolerance?

The convention in Denver is going to be fun to watch. On the news. From far away.

Oh, this might be why the Obama folks are little cranky. BO is down 7 points.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton essentially even in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. It’s Obama 46% Clinton 45% (see recent daily results). This reflects an unusually sharp change from yesterday’s results when Obama led by eight points and reached the 50% level of support for the first time....

It may reflect the minister's remark about singing "God damn America" rather than "God bless America". Many of us can't listen to "God Bless America" w/o tearing up and a lot of people will react to his remark.

I know what you mean, see that a lot myself at different events. I attribute it to not being brought up respecting our Country or the flag for which it stands for. Could be maybe they were not informed enough to know one should. Seems sad that someone running for President would fall under one of those circumstances. You did though, right?

We don't teach our children to honor their flag or country for that matter...Alot has changed from the old days.

When I went to school in the stone age. The first thing we did in the morning was the pledge to the flag. Do they still do the pledge??? I don't know

How can our children learn to love this country without some kind of guidance.

I know "one nation under God" rankled some people .....so we all allowed the few to make policy for the majority...

After 9/11........ I don't think there were many Americans that didn't stand up and put their hands over their hearts whenever the National Anthem was played...

How soon we forget.

He shows his patriotism every time he puts himself out there to try to clean up the mess we're in now.

He will still have to work with all the BOZOS in congress

Ok....to be completely fair... I will set aside the things we know because we have seen it with our own eyes.

The pin
No hand over heart
The pride
The 25 years having a mentor that is a racist. (Obama himself said that words matter)
And really a new problem.... His stance on border control and illegals.

I get it on the church thing. I couldn't care less about that but I do think Obama should be as scrutinized as his white counterparts.

Romney was microscoped on his Mormonism (magic underware)
Huckabee on his pastor background.
McCain and his Hagee connection.

Having said that...I will concede that Obama says all the things I certainly like. I do like that he has chastized his pastor and I love his foreign affairs speech. Its a long read but worth it.

Foreign Affairs - Renewing American Leadership - Barack Obama

I am still in limbo on a Presidential candidate, and its a long time til November and alot of things will be revealed before then, and since I have such a short term memory it will probably depend on the revelation just before the election.
